In the 00's through the early 10's, the VT-GT game determined the winner of the Coastal almost every year, so both fanbases were pretty hyped about that game every year. I think nowadays both schools consider each other to be their third-biggest rival, after UGA and Clemson for GT (lol) and after UVA and Miami for VT. Add in the fact that we're the two "Tech" schools in the conference and you've got a natural rivalry. All fair, and I certainly didn't mean to suggest that VT and GT weren't or shouldn't be rivals. Just an outsider's perspective on the visibility of certain rivalries.

Brett McMurphy and the OU Daily (student paper) are both reporting this morning that it's looking likely OU and Texas jump a year early, will start SEC play in 2024. A local independent journalist who covers OU Board of Regents meetings is also saying there's some suspicious language regarding "present and past organizational affiliations" on their next agenda.

If they wanted some arbitrary winning requirement, seems like career wins regardless of win% would be better anyway. How many people are gonna be in coaching long enough to rack up over, say, 100 wins while going .400? And that coach probably isn't going to get in, anyway. Yeah, dumb loving rule all around.
