Anno posted:Apparently this person is reputable for leaking Humble stuff. Pretty decent month if you don't have any of them. Everyone should play Spiritfarer. Hard disagree. I thought Spiritfarer was heavily weighted towards the early characters, most of them get very little development and it hard to get attached. Mascot horror and it feels like there's a mixed/ mostly postitive Warhammer game that no ones heard of in every other monthly.

Mr E posted:Been playing the System Shock remake after never being able to get into the original even with the remaster and this might be one of my favorite shooters/immersive sim maybe type games in years. Think I'm heading into the last portion of the game (just got the objective to go blow up antennae) and will definitely be putting this on my list of games I replay every year or two. I finished it earlier this week, look up where the grenade launcher is if you don't already have it. I think there's only 1 in the game and it's well hidden.

Are there any VNs with gameplay similar to Analogue: A Hate Story? I really enjoyed it but other VNs feel so passive in comparison.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm addicted to a picross game... A store bundle with a couple of wishlisted games and some other chaff went on sale making it cheaper then buying them individually. One of the extra games was Pickle Cross Adventure. I thought I'd play a few puzzles as a palette cleanser between other games and now I can't stop. I've always dropped picross games after a couple of hours so I don't know why this one has stuck but I'm now nearing 200 puzzles completed.

Alan Wake 2 is going to flop hard. The remastered original already underperformed 'Alan Wake Remastered has sold less than Remedy hoped.' It's a sequel to a 6/10 game that was originally released 13 years ago! How could it possibly succeed? and it's an epic exclusive, and the specs are ludicrous, and it has a season pass that the devs are going to be forced to make content for even though nowhere near enough people will have bought the base game to justify it. So what exactly does it have going for it? It's gonna have to get 10/10s across the board to spark any interest. Remedy is a publically traded company (who knew?) My hot stock tip of the week is to sell now/ or buy and hope for an acquisition post gigaflop.

The thing I didn't like about the first game was the many wide open areas that were completely empty (maybe with an cryptic star puzzle hidden somewhere.) It was like exploring a tech demo. Looks like they tried a little harder this time at least.

Earlier this year I played and really enjoyed Ender Lillies so I bought another game by the co-developer: Redemption Reapers. For a game from a small publisher it has very high production values, clearly a lot of effort and money was invested. Which is a shame because given the lack of interest online it must have flopped massively. The story was bizarre, it takes place in a medieval setting but it's been invaded by creatures called the Mort, which look like a less jacked version of the Locust from Gears of War. It's never explained where they came from or what they want (other than to kill people.) They decimate an entire human army midway through the game. Then on the final mission after killing their leader who looks more like some sort of cyber knight, instead of all falling down dead or at least being routed, they overwhelm and brutally slaughter my entire party wtf? Not even a sequel hook either, how bleak. I did enjoy it though, the negative reviews seem to mostly be from technical issues which all seem to have been patched, no crashes or bugs playing on Steam Deck.

Fart of Presto posted:Sure, if you've never tried it before, it could be seen as a lot of work. i guess the same could be said for following https://github.com/JustArchiNET/ArchiSteamFarm/wiki/Setting-up to set up ASF for only grabbing a few cards now and then. CIR was last updated 5 years ago, ASF was last updated 2 weeks ago. If you want to use it fine, but I don't see why you would recommend long abandoned software to other people. It could stop working at any time due to a steam update.

Dec Humble Choice leaks: Elex II Expeditions: Rome The Gunk Nobody Saves the World Midnight Fight Express I played Nobody in March of this year and it was pretty forgettable. I thought it wore out its welcome by the end and that's without the dlc. Maybe it's better with co-op. and The Gunk has been on my wishlist for a long time but the reviews say it's extremely short and it never gets a decent discount.

Suicide Squad is going to be DOA. RIP to Rocksteady, yet another dev killed by chasing the GAAS golden ticket. They recently let some gaming journalism sites play it early, this is IGNs' experience: quote:Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Preview – We Played it and Didn't Like it https://www.ign.com/articles/suicide-squad-kill-the-justice-league-preview-we-played-it-and-didnt-like-it

Apparently Suicide Squad is only 9-10 hours long. There's a complete playthrough on youtube which clocks in at 9 hours 45 minutes. I assume there must be some other reason to keep playing after? This is the game that has supposedly been in development for 7 years at this point.
