Let's not wish for his return please

One time a chihuahua bit me and latched on while I was carrying some boxes, and I didn't even feel it; I only noticed because of the increased drag on my right leg. That's what Tony was like, a harmless little chihuahua yipping his heart out but unable to do any real damage. I vote we free Tony for a bit; the start of the season is a perfect time for the mentally unhinged.

Whatever they had instead of passione when they won 8 world titles in a row seems to work a lot better than what passione is doing for Ferrari :D

That was Lauda's passione.

I've been watching Bernie Ecclestone's documentary Lucky; 4 episodes in so far, my favorite part was a short video clip of an interview with Lauda right after he won his first title with Ferrari.

I want to get into the current season so I dont know if I can take a break and do a whole older f1 season.

I would recommend watching the older season reviews with Clive James, something like this playlist. Each season review is only about as long as a race so it's a lot easier to get through.

No where else on the Internet have I seen one forum so obsessed with another forum the way SA is with Reddit. Seems like fads roll through where some other forum is a hot topic for a while, but name-dropping Reddit never goes out of style.

Reddit gets dunked on because it’s the easiest target with even worse opinions than this thread. It’s not really SA remaining spiky, but instead sports posters still remaining the gold standard on god’s green internet. Even in this accursed thread.

Reddit isn't all bad. Sure, there's a lot of questionable porn, and the F1 subreddit sucks because everyone who draws lovely F1 art posts it there looking for upvotes, but there's a few places that aren't completely terrible like the F1 Technical subreddit. Today I learned Brits don't know what an axle is something new:

reddit posted:

What Americans call a drive shaft we call a prop shaft. What you call an axle we call a drive shaft.

That's some pretty solid evidence they are broken people of no substance.
Wow it sounds like that subreddit is trying to redeem itself. Should've posted a drawing where you're trying to suck Max's cock, might've gotten some praise and more pleasant reactions.

Here's a hot tip to tell if your forums/whatever is garbage. if you ask a question does some mouth breathing dipshit instantly reply "use the search"? if thats the case its garbage.
I would postulate the people who don't know how to use search despite using the internet for 20 years are the real mouth-breathing dipshits; the same kinds of people I have to use lmgtfy.com with to visually teach them how to google something. People tell you to use the search because watching you ask the same stupid questions over and over and over and over and over and over and over again gets boring and repetitive.

For like, actual on-topic lols; remember when Porsche was totally going to be in F1 for real?

Lmao:

"It looks like Porsche will instead focus on its Formula E program"

The natural destination for F1 rejects.

Lmao indeed.. I think the deal was F1's getting rid of the MGU-H if Porsche and Audi come in; since they failed to do that, they should bring it back. It's such a cool little piece of technology, Mercedes even offered to give theirs to everyone and make it a standard part so they don't all have to waste money trying to achieve 50% efficiency like they did. Plus it would be fun watching Ferrari gently caress up the Mercedes MGU-H even when it's given to them on a silver platter.

No, they weren't.

'14-'16 was a hardcore one-sided wash out that was so severe, that after this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3UB1UCIge4 (if you can't watch it, they pull out a 7s gap in 2 laps, and it just gets worse from there)
Mercedes would deliberately manage their pace even when Hamilton and Rosberg were racing each other.

'17 saw some more competition, but they still beat a car whose engine was so roided out it was illegal, then it's only really '21 where there's any season-long competition at all.
The most frustrating part for most viewers was even on weekends when it seemed like Merc had completely hosed the setup, they could just unwind some of their sandbags and suddenly be going 5-7tenths faster in Q3.
All the while telling you "Oh man we are barely keeping ahead these guys are right with us honest"
To counter this shitposting, even during the Mercedes domination years, someone else would eventually win by this point. Mercedes never managed to win the first 9 races in a row.

Lando seems like he’s absolute poo poo at any kind of start. Some of it is bad luck but I feel like every single time he’s qualified top 5 the start is him losing like 2-5 positions and having to fight back to maybe near where he started, if he’s lucky.

I think he overtook Max once at the start of the race, I wanna say at Silverstone.. more than most drivers have done this season

By virtue of five 3rd places vs. Charles' three 3rd places, I feel like Ferrari gave him a helping hand there. Anyway good race today, fun to see Jack Miller throw it away again.
