My dad went pretty rapidly from "He doesn't seem to be running on all cylinders mentally" to "He's not allowed to drive anymore" to "He can't do anything on his own anymore or even talk" and then we had about 7 months of caring for him in that state.

You never know the last time you get to have a conversation with a loved one. Make sure they count.

Very true. My mom is actually the reason I'm a Cubs/baseball fan at all. I'm glad that, if nothing else, I had a chance to get her to Wrigley back in 2016. She's still doing good, thankfully.

Legit blown away that the Cubs went after Counsell. I thought for sure Jed was going to ride the rest of Ross's contract come hell or high water. As long as I never see him bat again, I'm cool with Counsell running the show. He seems pretty good at working with the hand he has.

I will always remember Rolen simply creating a black hole in the general area of 3rd base where baseballs went to die, regardless of how fast they were going. I remember shouting a bunch of "loving Scott Rolen"s at the TV during Cubs/Cards games
