There are special privileges for boarding and such that apply to military personnel in uniform, so I’m surprised to hear that they aren’t supposed to be doing that. I saw probably hundreds of soldiers in uniform when transiting SFO over the years. They weren’t armed, as passengers.

Which one? Also how big are their screens, and how long does a news broadcast last?

I was curious about the screens thing, looks like the French use inches for monitor size at least.

My dad gets super annoyed at it. Especially when the radio reports something like a traffic accident northbound on a bridge going exactly east-west. Who knows which direction they consider north?

The direction towards whichever end of the highway is farthest north, usually.

this one is also wrong because it's clearly counting 1812 as a canadian victory which every right thinking person knows is absolute bullshit

No, it’s just saying that Canada hasn’t been defeated, which doesn’t depend on the outcome of 1812 because the country didn’t exist until 1867.

The new capital of Egypt has yet to be given a name. A competition was launched on the new capital's website to choose a new name and logo for the city. A jury of specialists was formed to evaluate the proposals submitted to list and determine the best among all the proposals.[6][7] No official results have yet been announced by the Egyptian Government. In October 2021, transportation minister Kamel al-Wazir indicated the city might be named "Masr," the Arabic equivalent of "Egypt."[8] Other proposed names include "Kemet," "Al Mustaqbal," and "Al Salam.

It says a lot about how great Egyptians are that they didn’t have a Capital McCaperson or local equivalent in the mix.
