The website says leaving Westworld requires a week stay at a decompression chamber.

No it says you need to decompress at a resort.

A decompression chamber is unnecessary if you have a pressurized environment like an underwater westworld would be in.

So I guess this is going to be the kind of TVIV thread where it is best to stop following it on Tuesday and pick it up again after airtime on Sunday?

Its HBO's game of thrones replacement so yes.

How many episodes do you think it will be before somebody dual-wields a pair of revolvers?

I wonder if you have to pay extra for no recoil guns to do this or if they just have normal recoil and the squib packs blow even if you're off by a mile.

But why would anyone pay the apparently large amounts of money needed to go to Westworld if they were only interested in camping? you can do that irl without paying much, if you are rich you can just hire some hunter type to stay with you if you're worried about bears or whatever, no need to go to Westworld for that.

For all we know the "outside world" is a polluted wasteland.

They should call this show CoyboyStar Galatica.

Because it's based on an episode that hasn't "aired" yet.

If all the guests have God Mode armor, how do they make the combat quests interesting when you literally can't die?

They're all escort quests.

They should just outright have Game of Thrones world and reuse all the sets and props for that.

Then go through any other standing set they have.

I wonder if Hopkins put god mode on the hill people to gently caress with the guests. Like they're expecting to have a thrilling adventure but they end up in a full on horror. Maybe if they catch you they don't actually do poo poo or a rescue is scripted but it never happens because the natural instinct is to run. Of course that doesn't work if you're crazy like Ed Harris or totally ironically detached like doucheface guy

Maybe it's just a bunch of goons ganking people that wonder outside of high sec.

I now really love every "Do you have something to tell me?"/"...no" interaction between Bernard and Theresa over the last two episodes. He's running right up against his programming.

I've also come full circle on the two timelines theory after this episode. I first thought it'd be really dumb like having random cylons in the staff. I suspect the multiple timelines thing will be one part of a greater reveal and we've now seen that they can execute on that.

I guess it's just a bridge too far with my sense of disbelief when there are just so few safeguards in place then. I can wave a lot away for the butchers being stupid, selfish and cowardly but I'd just imagine there'd be some very easy ways to prevent stuff like that from happening. But just like Jurassic Park, part of the point of this show is demonstrating that human hubris never gets in the way of poo poo just loving up.

I don't know why don't have GPS locators lodged up the butts of every single host though, which meant that whole episode hunting for the woodcutter wouldn't have needed to happen

You'd think so but then again the USAF has mixed up training and live nuclear missiles in the past and transported them across the US without knowing anything was missing until they went to unload the missiles.

Nothing bad has happened in 30 years. Complacency probably set in 29 years and 11 months ago. Besides, giving a gently caress would require spending more time and money and why do that when you can have bigger dividends.

The biggest two time lines hint to me is that William gets shot with a arguably more rudimentary non fatal bullet, whereas we see current guests aren't fazed at all by getting shot.

I hope the entire episode is just Anthony Hopkins doing dramatic readings of dumb fan theories. Then at the end, he he moves his mouth down to a microphone and says "wrong." Roll credits. The sting is a chart that says what would have happened if the fans weren't such giant spergs.

I guess I'm kind of slow but I didn't get the point of merging Delores's personality with the Wyatt character. If the point was to have her kill all the other hosts, why not just program her to do that? Also, how would killing all the hosts prevent the park from opening since it's trivial to repair them?

I think the Wyatt thing was mainly about every other host's actions. And the biggest blow would've been a host killing a human.
