The 5x 32gb is $349 at google store now. I think I'm going to do it. I've never dropped that many clams on a phone before  I'm coming off of a Samsung Alias 2, a flip phone from 2009. I'm a living anachronism buying my first smartphone in 2015. I'm under 30, and work for a top 10 technology company

My workplace is a huge factory that is built like a concrete and steel bunker. Cell service doesn't work well here for anyone, even Verizon that works fantastic in other parts of the city. Most can only get cell service by standing by the windows, unless you have Sprint. Our corp phones use Sprint, and we have hardware installed that gives a great Sprint signal across the buildings. I got the Fi email about a crappy SIM. My Fi phone gets no reception in the "Sprint only" zones of the building. I wonder if the new SIM is addressing that I'm not connecting to Sprint? Either way, I'm happy to get a $25 credit. First month free!

I have seen two people at work this last week with Nexus phones. Being Fi customers is like being in the most boring secret club, but we can be snobs together about spending less than $30 on our cell service

I was also out of warranty at 15 months and got a no fuss refurb sent out for free. A nice acknowledgement that someone screwed up badly with that phone/update

Yeah, I might need to make the change here too to the Moto x4 from the 5x. I got the phone in December 2015, and got it replaced twice with a refurb due to bootloop in (April 2017 and August 2017) I don't really want to roll the dice if that issue comes up again and they don't fix it. Would probably rather pay $275 for that peace of mind. I'm thinking that I may as well finance the phone too, even though I could just pay for it up front. At 0% interest, seems like there's no downside (and there don't appear to be early payment penalties or anything)

The wide angle lens is pretty slick too. Anybody have a case that they like for it? I had a cheap rubber edge drop protection case for my 5x that I liked a lot.

Yeah I'm 3 weeks deep into the x4 and I like it quite a lot. They received my Nexus 5x for tradein 21 days ago, and still haven't billed me for the Moto x4?? I signed up for financing and haven't heard boo yet.

I just spent a month traveling from the US. Fi worked great in Canada, Portugal, Spain, UK, France, Denmark, and Ireland. My wife's iphone with Tmobile could receive calls and texts in most of those locations, but could never send any calls or texts except in Canada. So, yeah, Tmobile sucks even more internationally than it does in the US.

Also, I just spent 4 days in Paris with a Fi phone a couple months ago. I had good reception and coverage the entire time, but my wife's TMobile iPhone 8 couldn't make or receive calls
