The whole "historically Democratic idea" thing always strikes me as a bit weird, too. If I'm remembering right, some time in the last 100 years or so, the general leanings of Democrats and Republicans basically completely flipped.

Right. It mostly happened in the 60s with the Kennedy (D) and Johnson (D, who doesn't get enough credit) administrations supporting civil rights. Johnson was even from the south, but even before he was the vice president he was in favor of civil rights. Nixon (R) realized he could win over southern states by being just racist enough, and that's the super, super oversimplified version. It's a pretty interesting subject.

Also, turns out that when someone black reads classic literature or listen to classical music they're just "acting white", to the point where white people will say "well, you're not actually black!" to a dark skinned african-american person. There's a lot of things that black people do that get associated with "acting white" and most of it is just assuming that poo poo like graduating college and reading is a "white person" thing.

So yes, white people do bring it up. Often, in fact.

So I was at work one night, and we were just closing up. We had spent the night looking up coworkers names, seeing what dirt we could find on them. We had found a coworker's Amazon page which was only 1 star reviews, so that was funny enough. After we closed, a regular customer came by, big middle aged fat guy famous for asking questions to employees constantly without actually listening to the answers and being generally annoying. After he insists many times that he'll be quick, he buys his stuff and leaves. One of my coworkers sees his name on his credit card, and asks "Hey! I wonder if we can find any stuff about this guy online."

We were not prepared for what we found. He was listed as a public figure for some reason.

Reminds me of that old O. Henry story about the vagrant trying to get arrested for the exact same reason, and failing every single time. Which, of course, is slightly unrealistic, because yeah, it's easy as poo poo to go to jail if you're actively trying to.

Also reminds of the time the homeless guy took $100 dollars from a bank, and was so ashamed of himself that he returned it. The police than came and tossed him in jail for the original crime of robbery despite the fact that the money was insignificant enough for nobody to even notice, and it had been returned. Woah woah woah, let's not go saying things like Cruz is a moderate. Besides the blatant racism from Trump, Cruz is definitely more to the political right than Trump is. Believe it or not, Trump actually has some shockingly liberal positions, like raising taxes on the rich (while lowering them for corporations) and supporting Planned Parenthood. There were all these idealistic republicans who insisted that the reasons their candidates aren't overly popular/getting elected is that they're not TRUE conservatives, and now they're annoyed because the first candidate to really get people fired up to the point of winning the nomination looks like it's going to be Trump. And he's not even close to this idealized version of a "true conservative", just a rich racist rear end in a top hat. He even gave money to democrats! Including Clinton! Ugh, I had an ex like that once. She was lily white, and had completely straight light colored hair, but her grandmother was black. She loved to be part of social justice stuff, and would always do the whole "as a black person, I..." and insist that she could speak for black people, and she would use the N-word and poo poo. It irritated me to no end, and it was always aggravating that she didn't have the self awareness to realize that she looked 100% white, and despite her claims, yes, she absolutely had white privilege. And that, seriously stop using the N-word you look completely white. Reminds me of the other girl I went on a single date with who started dropping N-bomb in front of a black guy, and insisted it was okay because she had a black step-brother.

White people complain about not being able to use the N-word, but white people use it all the time anyway, so what the hell ever..
