zakharov posted:The Spartans lost. The Persians were obviously the good guys. The Persian empire was very multicultural with a huge variety of different religious and ethnic groups living together. The Persians also had some very strict restrictions on slavery because slavery is frowned upon in Zoroastarianism, the state religion of the empire. They also allowed women to have more rights than basically anyone in the ancient world. The Spartans on the other hand were a military junta that was only sustainable because of the large slave underclass that did the actual work and their allies were a bunch of pedophiles who thought that women were practically property. Democracy was pretty overrated.

If they made officers write a detailed report for every single bullet they discharged than shooting would go way down because who wants to do a bunch of paperwork? An alternative solution would be to simply shoot every single person on earth dead. That way there would be no more people left to shoot so all shooting deaths would drop to zero pretty soon.

I don't think people get the Islamic ban on pork. It's the exact same thing as kosher. You aren't supposed to eat it unless you're starving but eating it isn't some grievous mega-sin that excommunicates you or something like that. Muslims are also supposed to avoid eating donkey, whale, shellfish, wolf, scorpions, monkeys, turtles, elephants, bats, dogs, bears, and a bunch of other animals but you never see any memes about shooting Muslims with bear blood infused bullets.

e:↑↑↑↑↑↑↑↑AlbieQuirky posted:Random Mr. Rogers trivia: Roger Corman filmed secondary footage for Mr. Rogers in the program's early years (like, if Mr. Rogers was talking about going to the park, he would get Roger Corman to shoot some footage of a park for the show). Mr. Rogers was also a friend of George A. Romero. Romero's first real gig was filming a segment for Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. Apperently Rogers liked both Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead but wasn't a fan of Romero's idea of casting the woman who played Lady Aberlin as Judy in Night of the Living Dead. Judy is the girl who gets killed in an explosion and then her remains are eaten by ravenous revenants. Mr. Rogers had some serious connections in the B-movie business.
. Incidentally, the first African American in space didn't happen until 1983. We made it to the moon and back 6 times before we hired a black guy
Oddly enough the Soviet Union, which was probably about 0.05% black, sent a black man into space 3 years before the US, which is like 13% black, did. Since the cosmonaut in question was Cuban he was also the first Hispanic man in space.

Fury Road is good, fun and probably one of the most cinematic action films of all time. But it has the message of "sexual slavery is a bad thing" and has a woman in it therefore bad. I have not seen Ghostbusters(2016) but it is not Ghostbusters(1984) and is therefore bad. It's not even The Ghost Busters (TV, 1975). Xun posted:No pics but I just unfriended a guy on fb because he was an unironic violent communist who didn't know the difference between communism and socialism Why would anyone bother with being a non-violent communist?
