Most recognize that it's not real to a certain extent, never going farther then wanting to believe, but sometimes they cross that line. (I love his 'friends' in that article btw, they're absolute monsters. Their propaganda ruined their friend's life and got an innocent man killed, and they blame him for taking it seriously instead of self-reflecting in any way or even considering stopping.)
