Now he is releasing his own game, developed by Blue Hole studios (Tera Online.) It just went on Steam Early Access on March 23, 2017 and costs $30. For those unfamiliar with this game, up to 100 players start in a plane, jump out and start scavenging and fighting each other until only one remains. The playable area shrinks as time goes on, forcing players into encounters until it's over. It's a fun, tense game and each round takes up to 40 minutes. In terms of gameplay it is supposed to be somewhere between Arma 3 BR and H1Z1 in terms of realism and arcade. There are currently three modes, Solo, Duos (teams of two) and Squad (teams of up to 4.) Currently it at 1.0 release for PC and early access on Xbox One. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Is there bullet drop? Yes. Are the bullets hitscan? No. Are headshots an instant kill, regardless of the weapon? No, most headshots are not immediately fatal, but it depends on the weapon and helmet. What is a badness score? A badness score is an arbitrary rating produced by a robot to determine how bad you are. No one knows how the robot computes this score, but your best bet to reduce your badness score is to just get good. What is the optimal strategy to win? The best strategy I've come up with is to release your parachute really high and go to a far away location that has decent loot, but minimizes the chance of competing with someone on the ground. Then you find a vehicle and drive it to the next zone and hide it so it's not stolen. Camp with a shotgun. Repeat when the next zone is out of your area. It's really boring though. What's "zeroing distance"? Zeroing distance is the distance your sights are set to hit. If you set your zero too high and aim with your center crosshair, your shots will go over your target's head. If you set them too low, and aim with the center, you will shoot under. What am I supposed to do during the lobby? During the loading stage you need to get lucky so an M249 spawns on a table. Take the M249 and go in the middle of all the people and go prone and shoot all the bullets. This is to get their attention. Then drop all your clothes, followed by the M249. Then while still prone, position yourself in front of the M249 and move forwards and backwards so it looks like your loving yourself in the rear end. Bonus points if someone shoots your rear end in a top hat so it looks like it's bleeding. What are the best weapons? Vector, Uzi, and Crossbow. Is snow loud? I think crunching of snow being loud as gently caress but not traveling far and visibility being poo poo would be kinda neat to play on a small map. Can I play this game on the couch with a TV and Xbox controller? Yes, this is a max chill game that has native Xbox 360 controller support with force feedback. Is there loot on the starting island? Pro-tip: If you see someone go to spawn island, and decide to follow them and camp their boat, it's a good idea to loot some meds before you start camping so you don't die to the blue while you wait. Was AFK when a game started in a squad, so I landed near the end of the flight path in the middle of nowhere. Didn’t see any cars within the render range and started running to some compound. I hear a bike driving and hide by a rock, he drives just past the rock and stops. Since I have no weapon I just climb in. It’s a Chinese guy so I start talking to him in my broken Chinese. He was pretty happy that I spoke some Chinese and eventually let me off somewhere but not before telling me how much he loves Americans or something. Twitch recorded it so maybe I’ll post a clip of it when I have time to cut it. But seriously, we need a region lock.

The only thing a kill cam gives you reliably is distance. It’s so off, the rest doesn’t matter. But, at least with distance you can tell if a double headshot was viable or not. You should still be checking things like how damaged your armor or helmet was while crawling to see if every hit was in the same exact place or not.

The old map was kind of boring and most fights ended up with people hugging trees or the occasional rock. Now they got rid of the trees and lessened the number of rocks. Possibly more important than the loss of the tree trunks themselves, the canopy cover that broke up sight lines is gone. Fights generally take place only in cities or over long distances in the open where it’s impossible to move up since there’s no cover. That’s bad.

Sound, followed by predicting where people would be and then process of elimination. You hear the snap/whiz of the bullet, keep moving so you don’t get hit but remember where you just were. You hear the report, so you look that direction if they’re not just standing out in the open, eliminate the angles from where they couldn’t have shot you from. Start checking the obvious places like windows and roofs, then rocks and trees or good ridges. If you still don’t see them, go back to where you originally got shot at but keep moving back and forth to draw out more shots.

Someone in Discord said you basically have 4 ranges to worry about. 100/300/700/1000. Snipers are audible to 1000 but only 700 surpressed. ARs 700, 300 suppressed. SMGs 300/100. Who really cares what pistols are? The thing is though, suppressors both lower the range and the volume of a gun. So even if you can still technically hear my silenced AR at less than 300m, it’s still a much quieter noise and less likely to be picked up over other action. You gotta find what works best for you, though. Personally I’d comp over suppressor on the AK. Also, what is the silencer’s accuracy buff?
