These have been consistently improving since the dawn of time no matter what economic system was in vogue. Senor Dog posted:It’s not the economic system that’s led to these improvements but new methods and technology. People invented stuff before capitalism. The compounding effect of technological advancement makes idiots think that the economic system used recently is obviously the cause of the increasing pace of advancement but that’s strictly correlation not causation. I got laid last night. It seems to me that capitalism is an economic model conducive to sex!

I believe you were forced to make one as part of having either a youtube or gmail account or both. That's way worse than your standard "marketing push generated buzz and then people left".Essentially 90% or more of them are accounts people were forced to make it order to continue using youtube/gmail and have never touched since their initial formation. It's a sham statistic of the highest order.

Some animal rights group started buying up chinese dogs that were meant for dog meat and rescuing them. All it did was make the dog meat folks in the area intentionally start bringing way more tortured dogs since the animal rights group was essentially a new bulk purchaser. If you want to set them free don't buy them. Steal them instead, that's a loss to the operation.

Spatial posted:Yeah it's really capitalism to the absolute maximum over there. They literally had a "poison baby formula" scandal so severe that other countries faced formula shortages as a result of the sheer number of Chinese buying up foreign formula for transport home. Six babies died and 54,000 were hospitalized. This of 300,000 who received the formula. So one in six suffered hospitalization. The babies had kidney stones. The cause was cutting the formula with melamine, an industrial compound which mimics protein in simple tests (it's not protein) and is normally used in the manufacture of flame-resistant plastics. China is the true capitalist wasteland lol. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Chinese_milk_scandal Meme Poker Party has issued a correction as of 01:52 on Jul 24, 2018 |

Billionaires and their bootlicking sycophantic criminal allies are human, whether we like it or not, and to think of them as anything less than human is to absolve them of guilt. They are not the other -- they are us, human beings, and should be held to the same standard. Lotta people talk about holding them to standards but that doesn't really seem to be happening. Might just have to kill em sorry.

ate all the Oreos posted:I can't find it now but someone wrote a great article about how a bank (JP Morgan I think?) bought some nasty old coal power plants so they could exploit how the rules governing the grid worked. Like one of the things they did was figure out that the algorithm that determined who to buy power from wouldn't check prices correctly if the block of time crossed midnight so they'd bid -$1 per megawatt or something like that to guarantee they won the bid for 11 PM and then lock in the next three hours (because it's allocated in blocks like that, since generators need time to spool up and down), and charge $999 for the other two hours. See in a just world the person(s) responsible for this would be drug into the street and shot.

Capitalism is whatever you want it to be as long as it satisfies two conditions: 1) Beneficial to more businesses that it harms. 2) Harmful to more workers than it benefits. If your policy does both, congratulations, it's capitalism!

Most owners who chronically employ teenagers in a normal type of business are douchebags. They're just looking for people they can underpay but still demand adult performance from, and who aren't as likely to stand up for themselves. It's one thing if it's a basic seasonal job like paying a kid to help work the christmas tree lot or something. But this guy apparently runs a beachfront BBQ joint and just has a bunch of teens running around? lol what an rear end in a top hat. Fact: when the Mongol Empire was in it's ascendancy (as in, before conquered lands varied their diet and they were still eating their native food), a mongol warrior's primary source of nutrition was milk and related products. Mongols were all about milk and and yogurt and cheese. Their primary (only, really) alcohol was milk based. Occasionally they had some meat. If it's manly enough for Genghis Khan it's manly enough for me.

Then right around the time it became obvious that there was no realistic scenario in which we could be invaded, and that most/all conflicts would be abroad and probably instigated by us, it became the Department of Defense.
