Butler Burgon Rayner is Correct imo. Probably don't need to bother picking between the other two for 4th/5th, they'll go out first anyway unless something really weird happens. Still not sure how best to rank the leadership candidates after RLB though.

Labuor's excellent Environmental policies in 2019 (which were mostly RLB's work, right?) did a lot to pull the XR crowd that I know away from being potential/probable/previous Green voters. Most of them are now really pissed off with Molly Scott Cato. If we keep hitting that message and out-Greening the Greens that can only be a good thing. Just as long as we don't go full anti-science and anti-nuke.

Josef bugman posted:What happened with Molly Scott Cato? Ran in Stroud against an incumbent Remainer Labour MP, argued that only a vote for the Greens would keep us in the EU, generally poo poo-talked Labour and was adamant she could actually win and wasn't a supplier because of the EU Election results. Then the Tories won by less than the Green vote and she lost her MEP job as well. Basically a Lib Dem with a Green hat on.

goddamnedtwisto posted:Because for most of the history of humanity literacy has been at best sporadic so you gave your business a sign with a picture considerably larger than the name, and presumably Mr. Lloyd liked horses, or maybe owned a stable, or maybe there had been a blacksmiths there before. You'd think a bank would have customers that could read (although that still couldn't be guaranteed) but the signs were also useful for messengers and deliveries - "Take this to the office with the black horse on Gropecunt Lane" - in those pre-postal days. *cut to boss storming into a brothel and finding the messenger balls deep in one of Gideon's favourites* "'Sorry boss, I thought you said 'black whores'" "Hennimooooore"

I'm not hugely thrilled by any of the candidates in either race really. He's a good lad who means well but definitely comes across as a bit of a clunker. Butler>Burgon>Rayner is my pick, with the expectation that Rayner will get it and that'll be fine.

My favourite thing in 2020 Labour is all the Starmer supporters saying things like "we need to purge the left-wing" having spent the past five years making GBS threads themselves loudly about mandatory reselection etc.

Apparently Starmer got all prickly at being asked "what's the most exciting thing you've ever done" Like, it's a dumb question, yes. But how much of a gaping charisma void do you have to be to not have anything better in the tank than "going to the football"

Sure but it's yet more of Corbyn: "I wish you'd ask a proper question about homelessness or the NHS etc." Media: "Ugh, what an unlikeable grumpus!" Starmer: "What a pathetic question" Media: "Wow, great answer, really changed my mind, wuv u Keir"
