A few days ago the YouTube algorithm decided to introduce me to Veridis Joe, and so far his stuff seems pretty decent. Here's his latest vid:

And here's another recent one of his I like that serves as a good reminder that fandoms are not a monolith:

Aw sweet, I can't wait to watch this when I finish work. SnapsCube and the rest of ClownHouse are some of the funniest Twitch streamers I've come across that I kinda forgot that their fandubs are originally why I followed them. Also the Garry's Mod bit in the Sonic Riders was only five minutes and hilarious.

For those who fall under a specific condition where easy mode will compensate for their disability, this is nice, but it's also going to be an excuse for people like game journalist types to play through a game faster and write an article sooner. It's also a way for people to have to think less.

It's like when there's steps and a ramp. People are likely to take the ramp instead of the stairs, even though it designed for disabled people to use. People will choose the ramp for themselves, even though they're in perfectly capable ability to take the stairs, to make their day easier...even though, again, it's designed to accommodate those who need it.

He's the only YouTuber I can think of who makes actually good top 10 videos. (top ten worst mascots, top ten edgiest cartoons, top ten worst nickelodeon/cartoon network decisions, etc)

Also, he's been branching out in video games more (usually obscure "mascot" games from the early 2000s) and those videos are alot of fun too

Thanks, I was trying to remember why the name MrEnter sounded sketchy to me until you pointed it out.

Also if anyone wants a much shorter and probably better video on children's PSAs, Veridis Joe posted one a couple months ago.

I distinctly recall one or two posters in the last Internet Personality thread where it was incredibly obvious they didn't watch the gay space rock cartoon but thought it redeemed fascists anyways (it never did). I'm glad that people in this thread know that take is bullshit and that Lily Orchard is both a terrible critic and a terrible human being. I refuse to watch her "______ is Garbage and Here's Why" videos out of principle but I do know she and her stans were really pissed at Sarah Z's video on bad media criticism. That and she got kicked out of Hbomberguy's Discord server after harassing at least two of it's other members. Totally (not) looking forward to when she gets around to reviewing The Owl House or whatever.

Anyways I think we can all agree that anyone who genuinely believes that either SU or SPOP is fascist apologia is a terminally online weirdo who needs to log off.

Also going with that doesn't mean you can't write conflict and drama in...quite the opposite, really.

I haven't watched this show myself so I won't comment on it, but I knew when I saw the promotional poster years ago that the reactionary crowd would have opinions on it. I do wonder though if a lot less people would be mad at this show's existence if it wasn't a Crunchyroll Original™.

It also sucks to hear that the studio working on this was given a much lower budget compared to what animation studios in the U.S. usually get.

Honestly there are a couple games he looks at that almost make me want to try it out for myself (Vindictus, Warframe) if I wasn't already rotating between FFXIV and Guild Wars 2.

Eh maybe somewhat, but I think it's messier than that. Twitter certainly doesn't help since it's optimized for shotgun blasting extreme positive/negative feelings into the void or at other people, and it's so big and unfiltered anyway. The whole "ur fav is problematic" thing was a big issue on tumblr, too, before the 2016 election or #metoo. There was a lot of discourse around how especially things produced by minority creators were held to an unrealistic standard of peerless perfection, and then would face extreme backlash the minute something was perceived not the meet those expectations. Meanwhile, media that comes out of the white hetero-normative conglomerate passes with comparably little negative feedback.
