OK, so I'm kinda used for Owlcat "normal difficulty is actually hard difficulty" and throwing stat inflated mobs left and right, but I'm getting my rear end kicked by what I think is supposed to be tutorial boss Chaos Spawn, also my psyker is way worse than NPC psyker. the hell am I doing wrong, I had no such problems in Pathfinder games.

It might be skill issue, but I got totally wrecked by rebels on Rykad Minoris and I think that game should either make it more clear that Rykad Minoris is not supposed to be the first place you visit or warn us that we are not going to be able to go back for some time with, idk, warning that there are hostile AA guns on surface.

Why is Abelard Iconoclast? I'm only in Chapter 2 but so far he acts like 100% Dogmatic. Iconoclasts are supposed to "believe in value of human life and freedom" and Abelard gives no gently caress about either.

I really don't like how Owlcat bait us with minor encounters that have so much potential to be fully fledged subquests or even subquest lines, but end with no real conclusion instead. I'm looking especially at Black Ship wreck and toxic bunker.

On the other hand, random events during Warp travels are peak of Owlcat writing. Especially when you try to go back to Imperium, it's some serious "Event Horizon" poo poo.

I've never played Owlcat game without Toybox and I'm not going to start now, even with Rogue Trader being the least janky and tedious Owlcat game so far.

I really love how there is not one, but two (arguably three if Navigator counts) psyker NPCs who will always be better than you. Really encourages me to play psyker. I'm honestly surprised there is no overpowered Pyromancer npc.

Oh, so it's classic Owlcat "use one of three valid builds or get hosed" moment with "use Officer" being new "dip vivisectionist".

For Eldar it's like choosing between working with batshit crazy drug addict and working with rabid chimpanzee with laser gun. Usually the choice is "peace out, losers" but sometimes said Eldar is a furry and likes those hairy savages.

Together with Dawn of War this game might be the best 40k gateway drug so far. Neither requires previous knowledge of the setting and both have pretty good and diverse representation of main factions (unlike games focused on one or two factions, like Mechanicus or Space Marine). I'm currently finishing chapter 2 and so far there has been Chaos (all four flavours), Eldars, Deldars, Navigators, Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines, Inquisition, Sisters of Battle, Mechanicus, Ecclesiarchy, even genestealer cameo - I think of major factions only Imperial Guard, Tau, Necrons and Orks are missing. Dawn of War excels in bolterporn aspect of setting, Rogue Trader in dystopian nightmare aspect, but both are good.

I hate it too, but cRPGbro actually has pretty good video builds, without usual "yooooo please smash that subscribe button, now time for soyface and raid shadow legends ad" poo poo and his builds are much better than neoseeker builds.

40k is absolutely terrible when it comes to math and scale.

Finishing chapter 3 and I am not sure what to think about it, storywise and visually it was great to visit Dark City, but gameplay was extremely boring and linear. Should I put a pause now and wait until Chapter 4 onwards is patched or is it playable now?

I vaguely remember that non-Chaos non-Imperial human separatist faction used to be a thing in Koronus Expanse (Severan Dominium or something), I wonder if it is going to be included in one of DLCs

I know that "xenos calling humans apes" is running joke in 40k (mon'keigh and gue'la) but I could swear I've heard mon'keigh pronounced "mon-kai" instead of "monkey" in some video game.

Also is it ever explained what "elantach" actually means, because somehow I missed that.

Agree, writing on warp parts (especially unsuccessful attempt to return to Imperium) was top notch.

It probably all comes back to their planned party loyalty/corruption mechanic plus Argenta as a planned romance that was removed mid development as GW made their bold declaration that Sisters of Battle don't fall in love or get corrupted to Chaos.

Pretty sure there is at least one married Sister of Battle in Ciaphas Cain books and 100% there is at least one Sister in lore who willingly turned to Chaos - Miriel Sabathiel or something like that, fell to Slaanesh because of course it had to be Slaanesh

Loads of Sisters have fallen to Chaos through warp nonsense over the years. It’s just that it’s very rare that they fall willingly.

Back in my 40k days I had an idea for Adepa Sororitas chapter that got cut off from the rest of of Imperium and got corrupted by Khorne while still believing themselves to be loyalist, with battlecries like "Blood for the Blood Emperor" and "Skulls for the Golden Throne". Because to be fair, even loyal Sisters are all about "maim, burn, kill (the heretic)"
