I missed the details and didn't see it here, but I guess there was some nothingburger case up before the Supreme Court yesterday, and all 6 conservative justices recused themselves, so the remaining three didn't have quorum and the case had to be thrown out. What's the likelihood they pull some poo poo like that with some or all of Tmurp's cases?

Coroner report is saying Nex didn't die from injuries sustained in the beating, and the guy that hired Chaya or whatever is also a huge piece of bigoted poo poo who will probably just fire LoTT and then figure out how to spin that firing into yet another stepping stone toward national politics through his psychotic anti-LGBTQ+ platform. Also, I'm in Oklahoma, and I'm seeing a lot of stuff about Nex from 2 people on the reg, and everyone else is either radio silent or unaware. Most of the alt-communities that I interact with in this hellhole made a lot of "Non-binary kid got killed, because of loving course they did" posts, kind of sliding into this resigned, bitter acknowledgement that this state is a dumpster fire, then they moved on to organizing get-togethers for anyone who knew a middle-aged punk who passed away recently. Stupid nothing state.

I'm currently involved in a conversation where the other party is asserting that even though the Heritage Foundation directly aided in Trump's transition into the White House, and selected hundreds of cabinet members for his administration, as well as co-authoring the list of SCOTUS nominee picks that Trump used to make his three selections, they have no direct influence over Trump. All those positional picks were just suggestions that have no weight as to policy or directives, and any perceived influence is coincidental. Additionally, I am being 'hysterical' for showing any concern whatsoever about Project 2025, which was authored by several members of said Heritage Foundation, including a few lesser members of former President Trump's cabinet. This is just the pendulum swinging the other way, and out constitutional republic is, in fact, too durable for Trump's machinations. Furthermore, no one should vote for Biden, because he allowed Roe v Wade to be overturned, and Alabama's IVF ruling happened while he was President as well. I just do not get people.

My almost 75-year-old moderate as gently caress hardcore christian mother was just spitting mad about that Nancy Mace interview today. She never gets angry, so it was really bizarre. My chud dad was a big fan of the super-creepy lady's SotU response, and we had to explain to him why we all felt it was weird and creepy, and he thought we were being hyper-partisan. Fox News repeatedly displays a header that reads "Biden's Border Crisis" with scary barbed wire imagery and a menacing red font, and today they were talking about a helicopter crash that killed three service members, and I jokingly asked "Oh no, how did Biden make the chopper crash?" and my dad started to explain in earnest before I just goy up and left the room.
