I was hoping there would be inspiration from the recent Vision comic series. Basic synopsys, after Vision has deleted his own emotions (after a complicated series of events that I choose not to understand), he left Scarlet Witch. In her place, he creates an artificial family (whose fabricated to be just like him), and move to the suburbs of Virginia where Vision is a consultant for the US government. Things aren't going great socially, with a lot of 'Sinister Suburbia' vibes. Then one of Vision's longtime supervillains show up to attack his family, only for his wife to murder him and hide the body. And the awful poo poo just snowballs from there. It's kinda like the 'No Country For Old Men' version of the Coen Bros taking on a Superhero story, only with Sci-Fi vibes and an apocalypicly Fatalistic attitude.

It's probably not going to do anything the comics did (it's on Disney's 'Family' streaming service anyways), but it's cool if it has the disturbed Upper-to-Middle Class vibe, and a story of powerful people making mistakes and it turning out horribly for them.

If anyone chooses to look for this, the volumes are called Little Worse Than A Man and Little Better Than A Beast. Search Amazon in Books for "vision little worse" and they're the top two hits.

I like this. Note that the flows of the makeup are running upwards. The Joker is literally turning his frown upside down. If that isn't fan art, then it's clever for a studio.

It's weird because like "The Ghostbusters franchised out and here's a new team in a new city" seems like the easiest thing in the world to do.

Then the movie would be pasted up as another Ghostbusters 2016 and it would land like a bag of cold sick.

Mustached5thGrader, did you ever see the trailer for the original Ghostbusters? There were drat few jokes in it.

I wonder if that's one of those movies that would be better served by a different title. Having Elizabeth Moss in "Dead Boyfriend" only to have it turn into an Invisible Man movie when you realize she's not going crazy could have been a dusk till dawn level mindfuck.

I think that's the kind of twist which would lead to things being hurled at the screen. It worked in From Dusk Till Dawn because the menace was always real, you just didn't know where it came from. It works in the other direction - Cabinet of Dr Caligari did it 100 years ago, and more recently Candyman. But taking a movie selling itself as a mental health drama and turning it into a horror halfway through is a different kettle of fish.

I love how Netflix is so transparent about reusing actors across their original productions.

Why would they not? Everyone knows everyone else. If you were making a movie, would you pick the unknown who could be a prima donna when you could pick someone you know won't cause any on-set friction?

That was a different situation. In the Golden Age actors weren't freelancers contracted for individual movies, they were employees of the studio.

Law & Order was incredibly important to the New York/New Jersey acting scene, and HBO continues to be so through today. You had hundreds of actors getting parts and then suggesting friends and colleagues for other roles and it just went on and on. Most of those shows were/are either shot on location or at Silvercup Studios in Queens.

One thing that always amuses me when I think about it is that the final fight in Highlander was both shot and set at the Silvercup Studios. The first half was filmed on a soundstage dressed to look like the roof of the building they were in.

Strong The Room energy, where Tommy hired a crew to build a set of a rooftop outside, and build a green screen behind it, so he could digitally add in the background of the roof of a building he owns and could have shot on.

Not really; the scene involved destroying the Silvercup sign. Leaving aside the safety issues, they weren't going to do that. That's why it's funny in Highlander and stupid in The Room.

Whether or not you're serious, it's a Simpsons poster based on one of the most notorious movies of all time. As in, they took what feels like every legendary British actor of the 1970s and put them on a set with porn stars loving. Coming in 2021: The 120 Days of Springfield!
