chumbler posted:Well, part of it is also that there are really only like 4 shotguns in the game in terms of playing differently, and there are few shotguns period, so you'd better really like a given shotgun because odds are you're never going to be getting an upgrade or even sidegrade to it. Gameplay-wise shotguns run into a problem similar to sniper rifles, in that they can overkill by a lot when the usually more important statistic is how many kills a magazine translates into, which is pretty much always higher for rifles, especially ones like the ignis which blatantly disregard game mechanics like walls, body blocking, and aiming. I've been away for awhile; is the ignis actually good now?

Normally I'd agree with you, but for all it's awkwardness this thing is theorycrafting as better than a brakk, without the range limitations. Cathair posted:Here's the issue: as a bow, it's a weapon that relies on accurate, relatively slow single shots. How does it stand as a slower, much stronger Latron that requires you lead your shots? Was such a let down to finally get the plat to buy a slot to get a frame I'd been looking forward to, have tons of fun flying around, rank up and unlock Literally !Jump (From Final Fantasy, the reason I wanted Zephyr), only to slam down on a Venus enemy's head for maybe half it's health bar. Most people, myself included, mainly use Zephyr for her 1 and 3. If you really want to use Dive Bomb though, stick a Heavy Impact on her; Dive Bomb activates it from any height, giving you some nice AOE CC on demand.

Just couldn't figure out what they wanted me to do there because I remember it being not obvious that it was a thing you actually could do (though I forget now what it was), and I think I ended up having to find a video. Needing to use google to learn that explosive moas can hack terminals was pretty frustrating, as was being one and two-shot by bombards hiding in distant crowds, but the first two deacon stealth sections were absolute cancer. The only thing worse than instant death effects is ones with animations that take ages to play out. Speaking of complaining about TNW, is there any explanation as to what Ballas and Erra's deal is? Erra pretends to capture Ballas, *actually* mutilates him, and then reveals that Ballas was actually his boss the whole time? Why the amalgam surgery? Why bother with the leash bit at all if they were just going to toss Natah the second she asked literally any questions? Cryophage fucked around with this message at 19:16 on Jun 16, 2023 |
