5.0.2? I didn't even get 5.0.1 yet! Although I'm not seeing (m)any of the bugs that people here report in 5.0, like the redraw and Wifi bugs and whatnot. At least...I don't think I am?

I love the Nexus 6. Coming from the Nexus 4 it was a huge improvement. I haven't had any problems with Lollipop aside from the smart lock not working at my house. No wifi issues, no screen redraw memory leaks, no dialer issues.

It almost seems small. Not sure how I used the N4 looking at it now. I remember getting the N4 to replace an iPhone 4S and thinking how huge it was.

I, too, have a Nexus 6. I was all set to buy a Moto X 2014 64GB, but when I saw that I could get a bigger phone, with wireless charging, for an extra $50, I figured it was a no brainer for me.

Although, I gotta say - I hardly use the wireless charging - turbo charging is NUTS, and it's completely replaced and sort of conventional charging. Battery easily lasts a day and a half and I get about 4-5 hours of screen-on-time until it's dead. Screen brightness is at 50%, yadda yadda anecdotal data yadda.

Yeah I have a vu that I got for Christmas and I use it to charge while going to sleep, but turbo charging is some next level wizardry. The phone gets super hot though.

Smart lock now actually works with my house set via gps. I'm not sure if it's the 5.0.1 update that fixed it or they did a play services update or what, but it definitely wasn't working before and now does. So I think that was my only lollipop complaint and now it's fixed.

When I check it, the screen is black and won't come on. I hold down the power button and it starts booting. Not sure what it's doing.

Completely different subject, but turbo charging is goddamn amazing. If you are looking to buy a new phone and it doesn't have turbo charging you should probably look at a different phone. It's seriously amazing.

I've never flashed any images, despite having a nexus 4 and now nexus 6. My phone has been randomly rebooting, so I was going to do a factory reset. Would flashing 5.1 accomplish the same thing? Might as well kill two birds with one stone...

I flashed 5.1 with no prior experience. The flash-all script kept failing and saying no system.img but I found an android police article that had a walk through of flashing each part individually and it worked like a champ. I did it clean so now I'm setting this up again. All-in-all it took maybe.. 20 minutes? And that includes downloading the sdk and whatnot too.

I locked the bootloader afterward, not sure if I should have.

Yes I have seen this and it's super weird. I haven't seen it recently but I can't actually remember if there was a Hangouts update that fixed it or if it was fixed when I wiped for/flashed 5.1

It's super annoying because as you say, the ordering changes. I'd look for a text that I KNOW I just got and it wouldn't be there. Some wouldn't be in the list at all and I'd have to compose a new message to even see the old ones...

Did I just set it down wrong on there? It only happened the once and I charge it every night so I guess it's not defective or anything, but it was kinda strange.

Also, does the cable matter when using quick charge or just the adapter itself? I use the cord that came with the charger for the one I have, but I was looking at that car one linked above and it looks good, I just don't know if the cord matters. I have a "charge only" cord I use right now.

Well, for one, the way that phone calls and standard text messages are received mean there isn't really a go-and-check-for-it process. You'd have to program the phone to actively ignore signals from the cellular network to wake the gently caress up.

The doze system is more about shutting down background "hey do you have anything new for me" processes from apps you don't use much. And telling them if they're using GCM to use hi-priority for actual info, else they'll batch them up and wake the phone up less often to process "so and so is offline" kind of items.

OK that's good then, mostly me being a dummo. I still think if there's some crazy thing Google can screw up they will, but at least if I'm on call for work the phone will (probably) still ring.
