Gwyrgyn Blood posted:I probably missed it somewhere, did they talk about how Order of Battle mechanics will work in HOI4 yet? Just kind of curious what level of detail it goes into, for assigning officers and organizing things. They talked a little bit about in one of the earlier dev diaries, maybe last year? It's similar to HoI2/DH: select a bunch of units and assign a general.

Can't wait for the hundred different mods that have SS divisions made of special snowflake SS regiments with special snowflake SS stats. E: Actually now I really want a mod that requires Germany to use a percentage of its factories to produce subpar SS units based on how strong the Nazi party is. dublish fucked around with this message at 23:39 on Mar 16, 2016 |

Randarkman posted:There already is an SS division template in the game. It's a motorized/mechanzied infantry division, which is pretty much historically accurate for the Waffen-SS, and many of their divisions particular the ones created later in the war were the first to get their hands on new equipment. The Wehrmacht guys mostly had to depend on boots, bikes and horses. Meanwhile casualties caused alot of German infantry divisions to be reorganized into weaker divisions (less men, less heavy weaponry), and usually renamed "grenadiers" or something to boost morale and gloss over that fact. You're oversimplifying and cherrypicking wrt the SS. I feel like this has come up before, either in this thread or in the milhist thread.

Why are you asking for similar events shaming players of Axis countries? This mod is specifically meant to show that the Allied countries were no angels themselves, I don't see what's wrong with that. I want this unironically in order to highlight the lack of Axis warcrimes in the game. Wait, I think that means I actually want it ironically.

It's kind of amazing that you can already get a key for this game already. I didn't get my Stellaris key until release day.Gort posted:Given that everyone's going to do it day 1 anyway, why not just give us a button that brings all your navies, armies and air wings to a specific place for reorganisation? Always seems a bit dumb to watch Daniel do that as his first action and it takes about 20 clicks. Wasn't he just setting where he wanted completed ships to spawn? I thought the other guy was handling the existing navy.
