A parent actually paying attention to game ratings and content is kind of impressive. Granted we don't have context for any of that image, but I'd like to believe they're just trying to be responsible in not wanting to expose their kids to any overly graphic content.

"Looks like you're losing your hair hur hur hur" every few conversations. Then again I'm more annoyed by the repetition than anything, if someone came up to me every day "That's a blue shirt you're wearing!" I'd probably start getting cranky at that, too.

Obligatory Toast posted:Point out that there are already children in the foster care system that are orphaned because their parents didn't want/can't take care of them that need to be adopted already. No one is adopting those kids 'cause they're too old, not white, or have special needs. Unless he's going to step up and adopt, he can shut it. Also for every adoption success story of a kid finding a loving home, there are two more where a kid bounces from home to home of abuse, or just winds up lost in the lovely system for the aformentioned reasons until they get dumped out as legal adults. The whole "Just put your kids up for adoption!" argument is really kind of awful and doesn't solve the unwanted pregnancy thing at all because not only do you have to go through the pregnancy and give birth to the kid, but now that kid has to grow up knowing their parents didn't want them and possibly get hosed over by the lovely foster home system america has. Some kids don't get bothered by it, others have their lives ruined by it.

My aunt almost killed herself recently after like forty plus years out of guilt for giving her first child up for adoption since she couldn't take care of him at the time and it'd just been eating her up ever since until she couldn't take it anymore. She felt too ashamed to even tell anyone until it was almost too late, either. Thankfully she got some help.

So he didn't talk to people much, but his work was the best in class. Then there was the guy who spent the whole class just chatting with the professor, he barely passed. His work was basically just a step above a powerpoint, at least when he actually showed up for the presentations and turned it in. But guess which of these two got a ton of recommendations from the professor for work once we graduated? Last I saw the first guy he was working at Target. It's just kind of depressing every time I read someone say "Oh just work hard and you'll get a good job!" because that's not how it works at all. I don't think it's ever worked that way, has it?

The sound cancelling poo poo wore off and broke in less than a year so I could just hear people a room away talking through them. However, that whole angle of the story is kind of embarrassing, and getting dangerously close to the 'magical negro' trope, which King has had problems with in other places, so any changes to it would probably be for the better. Most of the scenes with this character are incredibly embarrassing to read and I hope they re-write her completely. I don't know if anyone still cares about spoilers for a series older than dirt at this point, but she also gets some of the worst bits of the story what with being knocked up by a demon ghost that spent half the series just carting around roland's increasingly stale cum. Then spending the rest of the series obsessing over the baby, which proceeded to do nothing for the story at all. It's also worth mentioning she has no legs I guess.

He's probably more generous than the boss at EA or other studios. See, I still don't know though because even when he was still in control over the game people pretty much just constantly poo poo on him for how bad he was at making it. The guys who took over after him are probably more well known to anyone who actually plays minecraft now. Notch is mostly just known to people as the guy who started minecraft and got rich. The other guys are the ones who actually made it what it is now. Maybe I'm just optimistic but I think if anything people would line up to work with those guys over Notch.
