Even though ME3 left me super disappointed, I'm on the hype train for Andromeda. I didn't really like DAI because of the combat and all the pointless filler busy work that was on every map and I'm secretly scared that Andromeda will have the same thing. :ohdear:

Weird that the one mission they decided to show in the trailer was confronting an ex-alliance guy. If they want to sell this whole thing as being in a completely new galaxy and a whole new experience and stuff it's sorta strange to show that.

Combat looks fun though.

That bugged me as well. "Yo, we're totally taking the series to a new location so we can do what we want!" Base full of krogans, humans, turians, etc.

Eh, the same races and stuff didn't bother me. It's more that if they want to distance this from Shepherd's story and have a completely new universe and story and everything, it feels like having the mission shown in the first gameplay trailer be "confront ex-alliance person" just contradicts that vision.

Like, i'm cool with such a mission being in the game, but it being the thing they showed is weird.

Yeah pretty much. It just seemed a bit lame to go straight back into the old stuff that was in the previous games when they've been trying to distance themselves from them a bit.

Anyways, I'm going to go preorder right now and theres nothing you nerds can do to stop me.

I did a replay of all the mass effects over December and January. At some point during ME3 I accidentally told Chobots to get off the ship and at my next citadel stop there was a news broadcast about how she died doing some real reporting somewhere not just cruising around on my luxury frigate. Pretty sure I made the right decision.

Uh so I just finished playing the Citadel DLC on my stream and: holy poo poo! The writing and cinematography put it WAY above any other moment or set piece in ME3, save maybe Earth.

My only regret is that I saved it for the end of my playthrough. I would have loved to have a sweet crash pad for more of the game.

Anything to do with Earth is hot garbage in ME3 especially the London section at the end. The only good part is in the beginning section when the Normandy shows up and then when the kid's shuttle gets lasered right before you jet off to Mars.

I like the bar animation where Shepard stand about a meter back from the bar, leans awkwardly forward to drink, then shakes his head like he's never tasted booze before and awkwardly steps back another meter away from the bar when hes done. I also like the angry storm in walk finished by tilted sideways leaning pose.

I hope Andromeda has a better mission journal than ME3 cos holy poo poo that thing was bad. It got progressively worse as the series went on too. ME1 was great and actually updated where you needed to go in multi part missions and I think ME2 sort of did as well. ME3 is just like "Yo theres a thing in the Butt System go get it and bring it back to Bob Alien on the Citadel."

One of the combat videos showed that you can direct your squad mates to prime or detonate powers. I guess that's kind of more advanced gameplay or whatever but still, how can you be playing a Bioware game without thinking of squad powers?

You can specialise their skills to be primers or detonators but you don't actually tell them when to use them or what to use them on.

I think shep and miranda talk about cloning and she makes up some dumb bs excuse about it not being the same or something and it had to be the real Shepard because reasons. Meanwhile on the Citadel during your shore leave, theres a shep clone running around trying to steal your identify.

In my last playthrough of ME3 I'd pretty much come to terms with the pick a colour ending and was just going to do control. Then that dumb kid reminded me that synthesis was a choice and I ended up picking the deny ending and felt much happier about everything.

Just finished the krogan planet in MEA and it was pretty fun. Drack's loyalty mission was like an action/comedy movie which is basically all I want from this game. Generally I don't think the game is 'bad' just some things feel a bit half baked and poorly thought out. The profiles system is totally retarded and I hope they realise that putting your powers on cooldown when you swap is completely useless as none of the fights seem to take longer one singularity duration. The best thing about the singleplayer is that it hasn't crashed once for me.

Something I really liked about the final battle is that your whole crew is there. So many games with large parties kind of ignore who you didn't choose to take on the final mission.

The "boss" fight was hot garbage though. I'd take a baby reaper boss over what MEA pooped out.
