i was waiting to play the game again until 2.0 hit and i'm not disappointed. barely hit lv40 so it gave me a solid amount of fun stuff and then i was a dummy and spent my 1000 gems on more chests instead of a stimpack or something, whoops. you got me good, blizzmans

game is more fun than I remember it being, and I honestly think the speed of earning new rewards helps a lot with that. when i lose a match badly but still get loot it makes me feel better and keep playing instead of being a baby and quitting

20 free heroes also helps a lot, though there's still a ton i wanna get that weren't in the support/specialist bundle. got that one because it covered the most on my wishlist but there's plenty to save up for.

what's the frequency of earning non-loot-box rewards? i feel like i understand the loot box stuff now but i'm not sure when i get more gems or gold from leveling and stuff

Gold mostly comes from doing dailies and leveling heroes to 5. You get a trickle of gems as you level buuuut the primary source of gems is cash moneys.

Aside from stimpacks though nothing is gems only.

The Dehaka changes seem weird to me. Particularly the removal of Primal Aggression. I was fond of that talent on creep kill centric maps like Infernal Shrines but oh well I guess.

The new Primal Rage talent is interesting. Don't know if it's good enough to outweigh Primal Swarm at that tier, but it certainly seems like using Adaptation to forestall the need to eat your Essence stack could result in doing good damage via Primal Rage.

Alarak is a Sith Lord, Artanis is Obi-Wan, Tassadar is Qui-gon Jinn and Zeratul is Jolee Bindo.

Alarak is hilarious because all he does is piss and moan about everything.

So how are people liking post rework Dehaka? Right now I'm mostly bopping between two builds for him:

Option A:

Enduring Swarm/One-Who-Collects/Symbiosis/<Ult>/Primal Swarm for if the enemy team is really ability damage heavy to get the most out of the spell armor and to just roll around causing a ruckus, this is mostly just the same poo poo Dehaka did pre-rework.

Option B:

Tissue Regeneration/One-Who-Collects/Feeding Frenzy/<Ult>/Primal Rage I'm genuinely unsure if this build is actually worth doing but it's interesting to play around with. Tissue Regeneration really helps keep you alive with the considerable amount of bonus health regen, the added functionality of 10 essence per health globe makes completing the quest way easier, and taking the Essence Cap to 60 synergizes with Primal Rage to output some genuinely impressive auto attacks for a Warrior.

It takes a while for the minions to reach the lane, so people do it in order to get a pick for an early XP advantage.
If the enemy team doesn't do the same then the big group can tear down a tower for free before people eventually start rotating between lanes.

That's about it.
The only issue in Quickmatch is that some people don't know when to break off the engagement and start collecting XP.

The other motivation is quest progress. Someone like Kael'thas or Kel'thuzad benefits enormously from the early scrum for jump starting Convection or what have you.

Yeah unlike extremely memorable character Samuro. Get it he’s named Samuro because he’s a Samurai :downs:

Tirion Fordring has absolutely no distinguishing characteristics whatsoever. He does not share a single feature or personality trait that Every Single Paladin Ever doesn't have. Including Ashbringer, since Every Single Paladin Ever now own one!

He is like Hal Jordan. Bland as plain oatmeal.

At least Uther has the whole "Failed Mentor" shtick for some pathos. What the gently caress does Tirion have?

Smash added more features than it subtracted. It added a breadth of very intuitive angles of interaction like crazy stages, hazards, more movement, items, and did it while preserving character identity. Like there's a lot going on in a game of smash but it's so intuitive that it comes off as dead simple (which is why it's engrossing to play). Melee did all this in the most beautifully realized piece of software I've ever had the pleasure of playing, where even the music far surpassed the source material. (imo the reason melee still pulls audiences has more to do with what an unbelievably well made game it is and less to do with it being especially interesting competitively)

Hots took away but what it added back (talents, ammo, objectives) wasn't sufficient and the game really started going down the toilet once ammo was removed. For a "simple" game it's a real struggle for many players to improve beyond gold because what you're doing wrong is unintuitive and there aren't obvious things to improve on. It's just not especially well designed. The complete and utter team dependence is the other thing that makes it hard to play in a relaxed way, caring deeply about what your teammates do is the opposite of chill.

Mobas are the opposite of chill tbh.

HotS is the most chill among them but that’s still not saying much

according to HOTS's player count, a lot of people

for that matter, "fun to play" doesn't necessarily mean "good for the game". both of them have insanely overloaded "do everything" kits that feature healthy doses of mobility, sustain, burst, physical damage, ability damage, crowd control, and waveclear - and most characters of the same type have half of those perks (or even less)

also qhira is literally a token black character with a flat no-detail backstory that was designed to ride the hype of black panther (all of which the developers openly admitted to), and that sucks a whole loving lot!!!

Your first statement seems to indicate you think Orphea and/or Qhira have something to do with HotS’ declining playerbase which I mean, yeah sure. That’s definitely it. There are no other precipitating factors at work, you solved the case.

As for the mechanics complaints, neither of them have a noteworthy win rate.
