i don't mean it literally as an expanded universe, but the filmography and style and writing and characters hit all the same elements.

I'm pretty sure the entire reason this poo poo got made was "we cast an adult as wednesday"

yea i had this thought when in the middle of watching the next couple episodes and i took a poo poo and realized, "they'd never make a standalone show about pugsly, morticia, gomez, lurch, uncle fester(maybe?), thing or it".

there's like a dozen or so porns featuring wednesday i came across growing up and clearly there's a market for her character in a "coming of age" setting. although her nihilist attitude toward american history has always been technically correct

luis guzman as gomez rocks and christina ricci makes appearances but at this point i think she's gotten typecast pretty hard lately

it is kind of interesting that the rise of prestige tv starting with the sopranos, also coincided with the inability of the given lead actor to be separated from their character, and then "cinematic universes" amped that up even further.

clooney got famous with ER but when he made the big time jump to leading movies no one really still thought of him as dr ross anymore. conversely, gandolfini (rip) will always be tony soprano, bryan cranston is always going to be walter white (this is hal erasure), jon hamm is always going to be don draper, chris evans is always going to be steve rogers, etc.

i hardly recognize chris evans in whatever he's in

also batman: the impostor (by the writer of the new movie) where bruce wayne is a born sociopath protected from the consequences of his actions by his wealth, and his legend is instantly destroyed the second a maga cop goes on a killing spree dressed like him
