OK so

John McCain did a super noble thing during wartime by not going home based on his name alone

BUT then he did terrible things in the Senate again and again, including corrupt dealings, not just bad Republican opinions

BUT every once in a while he voted the right way, such as his thumbs down on repealing Obamacare

BUT that doesn't, on balance, redeem all the terrible things he did, he still did way more bad than good, and he leaves behind a poor legacy with a handful of bright spots (also, y'know, Sarah Palin)

Meghan McCain DID NOT deserve to be mocked when her father died, even monsters have families and she related to him as a father, not a Senator

BUT since his death she has shamelessly used his legacy to her own gain, barely defining herself as her own person rather than her father's daughter

AND she has continued to use that legacy to spout opinions that are terrible, and appears to be to the right even of her lovely dad

SO it's definitely funny to make fun of her now, especially so far from the event

There, now we don't have to have the long back and forth about McCain

gently caress the families too unless they outright disavow their monstrous patriarchs

I think this is right but I am also having a hard time envisioning what would have to be done for me to see a white guy with a swastika (even a swastika that is not the specific tilted Nazi version) and not instantly think "racist."

A loooong time lol.

Runes are still not the same as they amount to the same coded symbology as co opting the OK symbol. Yes they were used by the Nazis but as mentioned above it was in association with all the weird occultism going on in the SS. They are a red flag just like having that one haircut but the point is to then look at the rest of the context. Macklemore and Richard Spencer had similar hair but the context makes it abundantly easy to tell what's up.

At a heavy metal show if I see a dude with runes I'll next look to see if he also has other racist poo poo on him, or if he is hanging out with the Nazis. If he's not, he's probably just a dude into Norse stuff, but he then mentions Odinism, or any standard racist poo poo, there is no longer any doubt and the runes now confirm it.

Yeah, in Jimmy's case, this may permanently put him in a wheelchair and limit his mobility. Given that he is a tremendously active man for his age, this will be a giant shift in his lifestyle and it's easy to extrapolate how that can translate to some getting depressed and essentially giving up the ghost.

Though in cases like this, I assume it's less a matter of the cop actually being afraid, and more that he's just really enjoying it. Which is somehow much worse.

Toyota already makes its cars in excess of those regulations and matches the European ones. Toyota was also called a national security threat by Trump so they are in a precarious position as it is and will not be bucking the trend. By agreeing with trump they stay on his good side and don't change anything.

Yeah, if it weren't for the pictures it'd just be a case of another shitbag getting outted for being a shitbag by their vindictive ex-, but the pics make it gross all around.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the female staffer is also in the pictures right? Katie and her ex both were abusing Katie's position over that woman, and the pictures could be used to keep the woman's silence. Katie should not have been surprised that her partner in abuse acted abusively after she jilted him to go start another abusive relationship with another subordinate.

The young staffer is the true victim in all of this and the only one I have real sympathy for. Katie's current boyfriend and former subordinate to a lesser degree as well.
