Goon Guld is Dead. Game is Dead. Welcome to the MMO Market. http://sf.my.com/us Introduction Welcome to the wonderful world of Skyforge! From bright and vivid the imaginations of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1o8f1BSJeA Prestige Skyforge elects not to use standard levels in favor of a worse system called Prestige. Prestige is essentially your combined power level factoring in your gear, atlas node stat unlocks and Religion stat increases. This is normally displayed at the bottom left of your UI and dictates what zones and missions as well as some systems and gear are unlocked. Basically your Prestige ranking is your power level. This system is in place due to how a few faucets of progression function. The largest of which is the Ascension Atlas. Ascension Atlas The Atlas is a sphere grid in the same style you would see in Final Fantasy 10 or Path of Exile. From the start of the game you will only have access to your starting class's "Class Atlas". The Class Atlas is a quite linear and simple grid that you progress across to unlock class specific abilities and talents. Until you unlock a special node in any of your starting classes you will be limited to the Class Atlas. Upon reaching the Global Atlas node in your Class Atlas you will be allowed access to the Global Atlas. The Global Atlas is a massive and expensive sphere grid that you can transverse in many different directions and is how you unlock things such as new classes, symbols, god form and greatness for your order. Many of the nodes in the Global Atlas are large stat increases that cost in the triple digits of sparks to unlock. The Currency of the Atlas is sparks. Sparks come in three types. Sparks of insight (Orange, Green and Blue), Class Sparks (Class specific sparks and Sparks of Evolution) and Spark Replicators. The Sparks of Insight are used primarily in the Global Atlas and very early stages of the Class Atlas. They are gained as mission completion rewards and do not drop from mob kills. The color of the insight sparks are spent to unlock corresponding colored nodes on the atlas. Class Sparks are used to unlock most of the class atlas's nodes and abilities and are specific to the class. Class sparks are occasionally dropped by mobs in small numbers and bosses in large numbers. Mobs only drop class sparks for the class you are currently playing and only if you have unlocked the Global Atlas node in your Class Atlas for that Class. That other type of class spark called Sparks of Evolution are allowed to be used as class spark currency for any class and are obtained after you max out a class atlas and are a premium member. The Evolution sparks are great for speeding through newly unlocked classes or classes you don't normally play. The last Spark isn't really used for the Atlas but instead just simply increase all your spark gains by +50%. These sparks are called Spark Replicators. They are given as rewards for story quests, alternate drops after hitting your weekly limit of sparks and from the market. They are spent at a 1:1 ratio so each bonus spark you gain from the replicator spends one replicator until you run out. Spark Replicators never decay so crack all replicator boxes once you get them. Classes There are 13 classes in Skyforge. Each class plays drastically different to one another. An example for this is gunners and archers would normally fundamentally play in a similar fasion but the Gunner class function on overheating and switching from MG to Mortar to Rocket formats and the Archer is based on charge hold combos and elemental type toggling. This leads to many of the classes being quite skill based in how you learn to play the class. All classes can be unlocked from the Global Atlas but some are farther out from the starting point than others. There are three starting classes in Skyforge and they are Paladin, Cryomancer, and Lightbinder. There are founders packs and special editions for Skyforge that will allow for you to start with additional classes. Healing Before getting into each of the classes it is important to note that there is no primary healing classes for the Holy trinity healer role. Instead tanks will have to be dependant on dodges, blocks, health orbs and healing pots. The support role instead focuses on temporary shields and buffs to keep the group and tank alive for the duration of the fight. Paladin(Tank) STARTER CLASS Paladins are fearless tanks with a wide range of offensive and defensive skills. They can be found in the heart of battle, crushing foes and protecting nearby allies. ShiroIchida posted:Jesus gently caress Shirolchida you just effortposted about Paladin all over my shoes. Keeping a safe distance in a fight, they're capable of slowing down or immobilizing opponents by freezing them solid. Abilities: Aoe damage. Slip and slide dodging. Super Boring. Most over played Starter class. Kinetic(Damage) Kinetics are able to manipulate energy thanks to their special gauntlets; enabling them to hurtle projectiles at enemies, surround allies in gravitational shields and control their movement on the battlefield by altering the gravitational fields around them. Abilities: Geomancer. Gravitymancer. Fistmancer. Necromancer(Damage) Necromancers are powerful sorcerers and masters of death. Using dreadful spells, they're able to raise horrifying undead creatures and restore their health by syphoning it from their enemies. Slayer(Damage) Appearing out of thin air and disappear just as quickly, Slayers slip by undetected while leaving a trail of bodies in their wake. Their primary weapons are a pair of razor-sharp swords, but they possess other cards up their sleeves that can assist them in killing opponents or retreating if a fight gets too intense. Abilities: They are ninjas. Gunner(Damage) A long-ranged weapon's expert, Gunner's tirelessly study and improve their weaponry, optimizing it for raining down chaos. Remorseless, they have no qualms about putting their destructive technology to use and blanket the battlefields with bullets, super-heated plasma and explosive rockets. Warlock(Male) / Witch(Female) (Damage) Witches and Warlocks have an arsenal of dark sorcery at their disposal: terrible curses, frightening creatures, mysterious potions and, of course, their trusty broom, which acts as both a powerful weapon and a means of transportation. Abilities: loving plague crows everywhere. Monk(Damage) Monks are of a martial order, having mastered the discipline of body and mind. Wielding their staff, monks fight using several special stances, enabling them to perform dizzying acrobatic feats and deliver powerful blows against their enemies. Abilities: Shaolin Staff Monks. The Divine Observatory This is the main hub of the game located in the capital. Here you can access the globe, park, research center and "THE HALL OF GREATNESS". You also will have access to the character appearance reset npc, and Training Room (In the Research Center) where you can try out all the classes in the game. The character appearance re-roll npc gives you one free re-roll and the rest are cash shop currency. They can even do gender swaps. In the Divine Observatory you can approach the globe and select from any number of repeatable missions. All mission rewards are randomized and are refreshed to new values every forty minutes. The mission types you can select from are: Solo Adventures: 8-25 Minute Long Maps that allow for 1 to 3 players. Group Adventures: 40+ Minute Long Dungeons. Requires a five man group. Region Maps: Small to Huge World Maps with quests. Not instanced. Dueling allowed. Test Area: Varying Time Special Maps. Battle Arena: Pvp maps with team sizes varying from free for all to large group numbers. Each of the missions have a Prestige requirement to unlock access to. After unlocking the mission there is varying difficulties that scale up as you increase in prestige and offer greater rewards. You are allowed to group with lower prestige friends and entering lower difficulty missions with them given they have the prestige requirements for the difficulty and mission. At early stages of the game the world map is very limiting in missions available but diversity fleshes out greatly with progression. Each solo and group adventure missions will trigger one to two random objectives upon clearing them at least once. This breaks up 'some' of the monotony of farming the same maps over and over and dicks with speedruns. Pantheons The Guilds. Most of this information is touch and go for now as I figure out how the flying gently caress I am going to explain how the Russian MMO settled on a Democracy multi leader format for guilds. One thing I can say for sure is that they are very important for a big deal of special endgame events and content. There is also going to be PvP/PvE Guild wars. Also the Pantheon size of players allowed is dependent on constructing buildings in a menu as a group effort using your followers to contribute construction points. This voting poo poo is gonna cause some loving great drama without question. Orders of Aelion Upon reaching 2000 prestige (and having reached a milestone in your story quests?) you will be given a mission to report to "THE HALL OF GREATNESS". Upon meeting the bishop there you will gain access to your Order. Essentially your order is a menu based dispatch side-game that contributes to your stats in special ways and helps construct buildings for the Pantheons. The tutorial entails that you get a statue in the "THE HALL OF GREATNESS" and people begin to praise how loving awesome you are and want to join your tainted religion. After hiring some followers for your order by talking to them in front of your statue in "THE HALL OF GREATNESS" you can then dispatch them on timed missions to get ... poo poo. The followers level up with exp from completed missions and can be put in charge of provinces you control which in turn contribute to your stats. The provinces can be upgraded with chapels that increase very specialized stats. The items for upgrading the provinces and chapels are gained from the world map from random missions as rewards and go on a two day cool down. The system starts off with very very small stat rewards but as you expand your filth lifestyle to the populace the stat rewards start to make a very substantial increase to your prestige level. Large Scale Engagements http://sf.my.com/gb/news/announcements/skyforge-producers-letter-high-prestige-content-update -Distortions Using a dedicated analyzer, Pantheons can mark spatial distortions on the tactical globe of the divine observatory, allowing a group of ten players from the same Pantheon to instantly teleport to the enemy's lair. They will need to fight four powerful opponents one after another face-to-face in an arena. As reward for their triumphant victory, these groups receive unique Epic weapons and other valuable trophies, advance towards the next stages of their character’s divine form. Invasions Whilst Pantheons seek out Aliens in Distortions, the enemy also prepare their own invasion! Every immortal will now be involved in keeping Alien invasions at bay. Invasions are large scale events that affect all players without exception, consisting of numerous stages. Battling through each stage of invasions will allow you to make significant progress through the Divine Atlas due to rewards and bonuses which are not counted towards the weekly limits. -Anomalies Anomalies are activities for five players in a large open area that can be accessed by several groups at the same time. Tessa's Sanctuary acts as a rallying point near the Anomalies and a place where gods wishing to join in on these adventures congregate. Anomalies abound with Ether Resonators which in turn can be converted into Sparks for the Ascension Atlases among several other epic rewards. In this new challenge, an essential stat will come into play: Tactical Sense, used to overcome the defenses of powerful enemies. Raids Ten valiant gods will explore two unique and incredible locations that will test them against the strongest creatures on Aelion: The Mechanoid Ship & Operation Isabella. Raids will be serious challenges for players seeking group-based high-end PvE content and a source of upgrade items to increase their Tactical Sense statistic. -Invasions Whilst Pantheons seek out Aliens in Distortions, the enemy also prepare their own invasion! For most of these activities, you will need to rise as a God and progress through the newly unlocked Divine Atlas. Players will need to complete the "New God" Storyline quest which becomes available at around 30,500 Prestige. FAQ Q: So what is the combat like? A: It is an action combat MMO. You can do attack combos, dodge dashes and react to telegraphs without all that stupid red markers on the ground. Like TERA except without the sexy children bullshit. Q: What are these impulse charges? A: Read your skills. They build up during combat and some skills use them to increase damage or add effects. They are the lighting bolt number above your dash charges. Q: How long does it take to unlock a new class? A: Given how spark caps work you will be able to unlock one of the four classes within your first week if you spend you sparks carefully. Kinetic, Slayer, Archer and Necromancer are within range to be reached in the first week. Unfortunately you will probably be bankrupt on class/insight sparks so even if you do unlock them within the first week they will not have much in the way of abilities. By the start of your second week when the cap refreshes you will easily be able to flesh out one of those four classes. The Warlock/Witch, Alchemist, Monk, Gunner, Knight and Beserker are quite far from the starting area so if you are gunning for one of those class unlocks then expect it to take about 2-3 weeks. Although this information will make players piss and moan about the system as well as deter them from even playing the loving game I still consider the game easily playable. The Three starting classes are decent and I believe everyone should have a support or tank class at their disposal as they progress seeing as how it makes group formatting so goddam easy. Did I mention that fully unlocking paladin gives you a symbol passive that blocks ALL damage for four seconds if you take a hit above 10% of your life and it has a 70 second cooldown? Q: I am progressing very slowly. A: Not a problem. In the early stages of the game rewards are quite small and your selection of unlocked maps and areas are tiny. As you increase your Prestige (Number in bottom left of your UI, Essentially your power level in this game) you will start to realize a snowball effect where the rewards and prestige gains increase much faster. Think of it as a crawl, walk, run progression. Q: The gently caress is this spark limit poo poo? A: The spark limit is how the game limits player progression to keep everyone in the same ballpark regardless of how autistic the player is. Every week on Wednesday morning the spark cap is refreshed. Sparks are essentially what you use to move across the atlases (Sphere grids). Upon hitting your weekly cap of sparks all rewards will shift to alternate rewards that favor order progression. Sparks are only one of three faucets of progression in the game so you are not halted in progression just because you hit your spark cap for the week. Each week starting from when your character was created the spark cap will increase the amount it gives you each week. Expect this cap to jump quite high every week. If you do not gain all of your sparks in the cap for the week the remainder will roll over to the next week so there is no loving rush to hit a cap each week. Q: Is the game pay to win? A: Sure. Paypal me 20 bucks and you will win. No there is no way to loving pay to win in this game. Even the cash shop currency can be bought at exchange rates using the in game currency. So your time can convert into the game's cash shop currency. Q: Do my clothing items have stats on them? A: No. You can swap out your outfit at any time. There is a style room with all the clothing you have unlocked. Clothing items can be bought from the market, gained from completing class training, gained from quests and events. There is also a special class outfit you unlock from completing a classes atlas. Q: What do their mounts look like? A: Like this. Q: Do things like inventory slots or bank slots cost cash shop currency? A: No. There is no bank but you manage your inventory by breaking items down into enhancement stones or selling them. Extra inventory slots cost 15k credits each. Q: How much can I personalize my character's combat style? A: Abilities normally have 2+ choices that you can unlock for the hotkey/combo slot they go in. For my necromancer one of the things I had to choose was if I wanted a move that I drag my scythe on the ground to open a hole to hell that caused aoe damage and panic or a move that pulled all targets underground and threw them far away and stunned them. There is also talents that can be slotted that change your playstyle around. Q: Thease starter classes are boring! A: You picked the cryomancer didn't you. You can switch to any other class at any time. Do it. Q: But my cryomancer is super fun! A: Don't you loving lie to me. Q: Well then who is the good starting class? A: Paladin is a rock star. Figure out how your combos work and you can almost never die with constant shields and immortality abilities at your disposal. Expect active melee fights. A: Lightbinders are piles of utility. They have tons of CC and some stupid flashy moves. They also shoot a Kamehameha beam. They are a great support class with damage buffs and barriers. Q: You got any of dem spreadsheets? A:loving SPREADSHEETS Proficiency Level Sheet from Reddit. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mjNa1XFPIgVFKKnsH5pERD1UZG4jnmSWbfzLrsU56RY/edit#gid=0 Proficiency Level Sheet from 4chan. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1NZiPFT6t8FIZRIHuUt8rcmIJhGV44X-nt8HzvC5F3t0/htmlview?sle=true Damage Calculation Spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wK1KzzNsn4SKbArD_nA8hoPfZHuZuNaeYfqaTZdgZ3s/edit#gid=305896317 Spark Totals needed to Get to a class. Q: You got that big picture of all the symbols on the board? A: Q: What about stat caps? And other Stat poo poo? A: Q: What do I get for completing a class's class atlas? A: You get two extra symbol slots. The class symbol for the class you completed and an outfit. Class Completion outfits. Some Pro Tips: Washout posted:Someone really needs to do a better newbie guide in the OP. Something like MAX PALADIN FIRST and SELL ALL ETHER CORES THEY ARE REVAMPING THE SYSTEM LATER, and finally TO GET MORE SPARKS JUST PLAY THE GAME IT GETS SUPER EASY TO HIT THE CAP AFTER YOUR SECOND WEEK. Q: You ever going to start cleaning up and updating this FAQ? A: Edit 7/30/2015. Removed a fuckton of garbage and fleshed out FAQ answers. this game is pretty fun as a vindictus refugee i mean nexon refugee i mean emotional abuse refugee honestly this game is truly about how you can be a berserker god clad in a radical viking helmet and only designer skivvies, whilst wielding a chainsword that chucks out red enemy medical goo by the gallons. when you come back to town you send your minions out on WoW garrison/neverwinter style missions to build churches worshipping you and your designer skivvies, until you get bored of them and turn them all into door to door hopping jehova's witnesses. there's a story or something but it's kinda hard to take seriously with every character having jiggletits.

One thing I keep reading, if you want to participate in some high-end PvE content, that getting the Paladin symbol is a must because it's super strong. Also, apparently you can't progress through the Upper Atlas through an unlocked class from the Early Access or Collector's Edition class unlocks. You must progress from one of the three starting classes, then make your way over to the unlocked classes to get the nodes around there. Please berate me if I'm wrong, I only played the starter classes. FoolishLobster fucked around with this message at 14:18 on Jul 3, 2015 |

Drinkfist, Gunner Abilities: Big loving Gun - Dakka Dakka Dakka!
|
# ? Jul 3, 2015 16:51 |

Some Gunner info, gleaned from doing instances with Gunner Preview active and the training room. Guns, explosions, and a damage shield. Gunner is all about constantly switching the guncannon between three modes. Using the main guncannon mode, the machine gun, builds up heat. When heat hits 100%, the machine gun's firing rate drops dramatically. Machine gun has a few AoE abilities (like sweeping fire for as long as you hold the button down), but its per-hit damage is the lowest. Switching to plasma cannon mode and using its abilities consumes the heat generated by machine gun mode. Has some piercing and charged abilities. Switching to rocket/mortar mode and its abilities consumes another resource, rockets/ammo. Rockets/ammo refills over time. Deals high damage and has multi-target homing rockets. You can not move when firing rockets, as the guncannon transforms into a fixed turret.

Was more fun than I thought it would be, seeing as how gunner usually trumps archer in every game that both of them are in. Your right click swaps between normal/lightning/fire arrows, and the length that you charge your attacks with left click determines if it's a single target or aoe attack. The rest of your abilities are pretty much traps or shooting an ungodly amount of arrows, while your execute is literally a 360 noscope

If anyone wanted any clarification on what I mean by insane survivability for the Necromancer let me sum it up. While you are fighting as a Necromancer you use abilities that cost a big percentage of your life to gain death points. When you inevitably get killed in the fight you die and transform into a Litch for the amount of time you had death points built up to. The Litch has nothing but life tap abilities that you can use to straight back up to full life. After Litch form expires you transform back into the necromancer and the Litch goes on cooldown for 20 seconds. This 20 second cooldown is the only window to actually kill the necromancer as once it is up they will revert to Litch upon death again and repeat the process. I saw this class first so I totally call dibs.

Yes. No more character wipes after OBT starts. Changing class is as easy as opening your ability menu, hitting a class name and then hitting "change Class".

It wouldn't be too hard, but you would have to put a bit of time into each class. Gear is weighted towards your current class, but you can find gear for all of your unlocked classes. All it would really take is running a dungeon or two, or killing a few open world bosses as a class to current weapon and off-hand. I almost completely ignored Lightbinder and Cryomancer, and still got enough gear to be productive when I switched to them for side quests that required it. Every instance run will get you a box that contains a piece of gear, usually a weapon or off-hand. Amulets are less common, but still drop often enough that you don't have to worry about them. The biggest time sink will be earning sparks for each class, but since you're also gaining sparks that can be used for the Upper Atlas and the basics for other classes, you won't really be holding your other classes back.

Stormgale posted:I meant regarding gear, the OP mentioned amulets that buff specific skills how hard is it keeping 2-3 classes competitively geared so to speak? + obviously unlocking the not sphere grid You don't have to keep a bunch of gear for different classes to swap around. The 'armor' gear (there's no real 'armor' but stuff like rings and amulets kind of fills the same role) are class-agnostic from what I could tell and the actual class-specific stuff (weapons, shields, ice crystal drone thing, etc) can all be equipped at the same time. Like I may not be explaining it very well but if you're in Class X and go to the equip screen it will show your sword or whatever you have equipped, then if you swap to Class Y and go to the same screen it will show your equipped cleric rod thing. There's 'space' for all of that poo poo, you don't need to carry it around in your main inventory to swap around.
