Hey, SRM! I've got a kill team in the works, all old 3rd (I think 3rd? Maybe 4th?) edition metal space Marines with the 1991 Games Day marine as my Veteran. Still going to do them as Crimson Fists, but considering how old they are, I'm thinking of going Goblin Green on the base rims. Seeing as you're the resident OOP as gently caress expert, what do you think?

As for paints, Warboss Green is the one I use for my bases but it's decidedly more saturated than the old Goblin Green. Coat D'Arms still makes old-style Goblin Green though, so I'd try to track that down for maximum authenticity. Not too worried about having the exact shade, Warboss will do. And they may be 2nd-3rd edition metals instead of 3rd to 4th. I can't remember that far back anymore. All I need are bolter arms, those sculpted tactical squad shoulders, and the Crimson Fists tactical and command squad upgrade kits. With any luck I'll be able to cast the fist from the command squad and put it on the two marines that already have shoulders, and do the same with random veteran shoulder designs. Holy hell, though. The shoulder pads have gotten loving giant since the early 90s. Once all is said and done, I'll have about twenty or twenty-five marines, almost all scavenged from a friends abandoned minis.

Anyone buying Orks? Got 40 sluggas(axe and pistol?) 8 Lootas, 4 big shootas, at least I think they are, 11 nobs, some of which are based on Black Orc bodies, a dok, a possibly broken warboss and a ton of random bits, broken poo poo, and god-knows-what dude was thinking. Also, what looks to be an attempt at bikers on boars. Five of those.

God loving drat GW. The oop as gently caress metal Standard Bearer has his powerfist arm and shoulderpad set up in such a way that he can't take a backpack unless it's at a cockeyed angle. How do you loving screw that up? I mean seriously, its like, at a 30 goddamn degree angle. Now I have to scrap that loving model and find another oop standard bearer and give him a goddamn powerfist.

So those Dark Angel tacticals that a buddy wanted me to sell? Unpainted, completely loving assembled, barrels drilled.. Mold lines all over the loving place. Not a single one removed. Besides breaking everything the gently caress apart and filing the mold lines down, any other ways to do it on assembled models?
