Are there any passive abilities in combat, or are they all active?

Is there any way to see turn order ala HoMM or is it random to an extent?

Is there any advantage to having a low light level? Like, you have a better chance of finding treasure or you gain more exp or anything? Or is it solely a "Torches are expensive/limited" thing?

I've been watching my friend play a bit recently and even at 0 light he seems to get enemies surprised fairly often, maybe even more often than when he starts out at high light. Has anyone else noticed something like this or is it just confirmation bias?

I dunno if it's been posted in this thread but you can manually move a kleptomaniac's stolen loot into your inventory and still keep it.

I stock up on the +blight and +bleed resist items whose only downside is -disease resist. I don't even know how diseases work, and half-think they haven't been implemented yet. Is it just something that's not as relevant until you're either doing lvl5 runs or low-light runs?

I'm pretty sure it's chance to get negative quirks like Lockjaw or whatever.

I would love to see a bestiary that gets filled with information as you kill beasts/do missions. This game does atmosphere so well that getting a few written and narrated paragraphs about each of the incidental creatures you come across would be really awesome.

"These twisted mockeries of common swine relish the releasing of their turbulent expectorations, confounding the fraying dignities of unwary adventurers as reprehensible disease courses through their wretched bodies". That kind of thing. (Only well written)

The game already does that for the bosses. Should do it for all the enemies. Fully voiced. :getin:

Been playing Darkest Dungeon for a while, comfortably into level 3 dungeons now. I didn't play during Early Access despite having a key so all I know about the game is watching some streams back then and playing now. It is a good and cool game, though I cannot for the life of me figure out why you would use Highwaymen when Grave Robbers exist. Also I can't get Crusaders to work, it feels like they're super lackluster anywhere that isn't the Ruins, and even there they're just okay at best.

Telling them to "just skip the bosses" is a reasonable response to someone who is unwilling to lose anyone on their roster. Sacrifice doing the bosses? I guess so.

I'm watching a dude stream and on his first turn against 4 enemies (two thin skeletons, two skeleton crossbowmen), he has his plague doctor heal his half-health vestal for 3 health.

It's a champion dungeon and all his dudes are level 6. Evidently this game is not as hard as it appears if guys who make decisions like that can make it this far. :psyduck:
