Despite generally improving in their hiring practices in just about every other regard WWE's insistence on forcing (or at the very best strongly encouraging) every female employee to get cosmetic surgery is still super sketchy

I mean there's no way to conclusively prove it, but it sure seems like women signed to WWE take time off for a while and then come back with implants and a bigger push pretty often. I'm all for women having the right to do whatever they want with how they look, but given what we know about certain people in WWE management it's not hard to make the connection that they're being pressured into it.

It's not recent but Charlotte got them, Eva Marie got even bigger ones right before getting called up to Smackdown. I dunno, maybe it's all coincidental and there are women in prominent positions in WWE now who haven't afaik (Sasha, Becky, Bayley), but it still strikes me as pretty skeevy.

Whatever, I don't want to come off as totally fixated on this or for this discussion to totally take over the thread or anything. It's an uncomfortable aspect of the wrestling business but certainly not unique to it.

Tommy End's gimmick should just be staring holes in people and then kicking them in the head, not whatever post-apocalyptic cosplayer bullshit they're doing with Sanity. I don't recall seeing the Itami/Ibushi team in the reports from the last NXT taping. Basic Chunnel posted:Triple posting to say: a year ago, 6 months ago, would a Roderick Strong debut have landed with a whisper? I think there was too much of a gap between him leaving the indies and debuting on NXT TV. Everyone knew he was coming, but he wasn't a Kevin Steen-level 'get' so there wasn't the kind of hype that would exist no matter when he debuted. Plus the angle for debuting him was kind of flat because anybody who knew who Roddy was could instantly tell he would be Aries' mystery partner as soon as that was announced. Roddy should really be at Roode's position on the card ASAP because he's ten times the worker Roode is, but Roode got a theme song people like so they have to ride that out I guess. Baron Corbyn posted:Tye and No Way Jose are the only homegrown male singles wrestlers with any build. Patrick Clark would probably be next on the totem pole after them. Jose isn't really homegrown. His career hadn't gotten beyond regional indies before getting signed by WWE, but he wasn't trained by them and had already been wrestling for at least a few years before getting offered a contract.

Tommy End is better in the ring and on the mic than Finn Balor, if he gets the same level of investment from NXT and then the main roster I don't see why he can't get over to the same degree if not more so than Finn was before he got hurt.

He's probably not enough of a pre-established 'name' like Devitt or Nakamura were to get the 'we are going to groom you to be a main eventer the whole way' treatment, but he should. Then again, Styles had to gently caress around in the midcard with Jericho for months after coming in to WWE and now he's WWE champion, so who knows.

What's Roddy using as his finish on these NXT house shows? Are they letting him use End of Heartache? I don't suppose that necessarily indicates anything since Hideo used G2S on house shows long before he ever did it on TV, but I'm curious nonetheless.
