I just read this entire thread, page one to here, over the course of a couple months. Here are my observations:

- Although there were near infinite derails, there was not one about circumcision. Yet. There were derails about hot sauce, anime, Ambien, politics, what is a sandwich, pineapple on pizza, correct coffee temperature, Stanley Kubrick, Stephen King, Dilbert, Jon drinking dog cum (at least twice), depression and meds (more than twice), angry bagel guy/short people, Mexican food in Europe, and Seinfeld, off the top of my head.

- Guy Goodbody is good, Wizard Master is bad

- Wired: Finding out somebody died from a meme posted in this thread (RIP Fred Willard)

- Tired: Posting the Shrek Mint Ogre-Load pics again

Here are a couple of my favs from the thread:

Thank you all for listening here are a couple new additions (to this thread anyways):

I'll elaborate. Goodbody inspired this thread to improve itself by focusing it inwards towards more funny pictures. Anybody who complained complained about funny picture quality or lack thereof. Wizard Master posts were just grist for the derail mill (and racist/homophobic/etc.). Both were polarizing but Guy Goodbody was polarizing like a good universal solvent. He acted as thread lube.

That being said, anime is blood and most pictures Guy Goodbody posted weren't funny without an extra context layer of goons falling over themselves to do funny pictures "right"

Wow the list of derails I posted will have to be updated with the "cop body insult" detail of 2020-2021.

I'll wade in -- drat, every single police officer, trooper, is crap (DESPOTIC)

Funny farming word picture:

My buddy worked on a biodynamic apple orchard and had a wild time. The farmer refused to cut or even bat down the grass surrounding the trees so it was my friend's job to lie down and log roll himself across the grass to gently push it down. Hilarious, and especially so when you consider how many wasps and hornets hang out around fallen fruit in an orchard. I asked him why he didn't just use a log or wood tied to rope to flatten grass and he said it would have been "too rough on the grass life"

My friend eventually lost the job when the farmer discovered that he wasn't saving all his urine in jugs to be used as fertilizer.

Related to 3D Megadoodoo -- I used to commute to Louisville six times a week and every single day I crossed the Dierdre Mengedoht Memorial Bridge. I thought about 3D Megadoodoo a lot, and I often laughed:

Here's why.

Although it's been posted in this thread a ton it's still excellent.

I really wanted to be able to answer this but now I'm wondering the same thing. It looks like an elastic band that may be driving a mechanism underneath, or perhaps making noise from the ridges on the drum cylinder? Very much not a normal orchestral instrument afaik

Also generally very good if you like horrible puns.

Also if you want to actually just watch something quite impressive then sonata abassoonata is pretty good.

I lost it when the 1712 Overture switched to "Pop Goes the Weasel" from the french horns. Beautiful stuff

I just watched a terrible Christmas movie with my wife where the romantic premise was tragic and bored NYC chef has to emergency train a local inn owner to cook to save the inn. Etc. It made me so mad because every time they were cooking (and it was a big part of the movie with the big competition etc) it was using a dull cheap knife to hack ineffectively at vegetables and the end result even looked terrible. It was so obvious that they didn't even hire a professional food stylist, never mind consult with anybody who's ever been on the line. It was made even more infuriating by the sub plot of an evil television producer that the script included vernacular production titles and an extreme familiarity with that industry. Made it seem extractive to kitchen workers, although it was an adaptation of a literal Harlequin novel so what should I expect.

That in contrast to hiring Thomas loving Keller to advise everything and making it OOZE kitchen culture like Ratatouille. Good movie on a cinema level but also it makes anybody who has spent time in a professional kitchen feel literally at home.

Woo boy strong feelings lol

Isn't Sparta the one that's got the lyric about apologizing for bleeding on someone's shirt after slitting their wrists?
