I watch Twitch streams all the time and I didn't even hear about Ninja until the middle of last year when he said he doesn't like women gamers. Playing with them hurts his fragile masculinity or something. His audience is almost entirely teenage boys and he likes saying the n-word, so I've steered cleared of the dude and stick to my less than 150 viewer streams.

he claims he doesn't stream with women because he doesn't want his audience insinuating that he's cheating on his wife

I’ve never heard him utter a slur. There’s a reason Ellen has him on. He’s safe. As for the clips of him yelling gently caress it, it’s one of the reasons he and the crew he plays with are mostly family friendly. When you stream 8 hours a day, 6 days a week it’s not as easy to hide behind a fake personality. Dudes generally a nice guy who’s a little awkward, but way less cringe than a lot of steamers. Just hearing a lot of jealously in this thread.

Back on topic though. RDR2 is slow but enjoyable, but I have no desire to play it for more than an hour at a time. I still think it’s my game of last year though. After I beat it I think I’ll start with my bioshock collection. Are all 3 solid? I’ve never played.

people get weirdly attached to charismatic personalities no matter the medium, that's nothing new. but now it's super easy to send money to strangers you think are your friend and i do think that's weird and sad

Cheetah i know these may be kind of obvious but have you played any Ogre Battle or Summon Night games? or there's the Hamtaro adventure games for gbc and gba which are surprisingly good. baten kaitos? i wanna rec the mega man legends games but those aren't slow paced. they're a bit drab but I'll sweats go to bat for the Lost Kingdoms games, From's take on the deck building fad

I'm just going to assume you've already played the perfect game Skies of Arcadia

I was talking about something similar to that in the last thread. Game design now is all about shoe horning in carrots on a stick to keep people playing. The thing is that none of these mechanics actually add any value to games, and certainly don't make them enjoyable. I really want to see games get away from progress bars, stat tracking, and achievements. Maybe next gen. :/ Just play your games for the sake of playing them!

i don't have a single platinum trophy but i have 100% plenty of games i really like. donkey kong country 2, majora's mask, skies of arcadia, the wonderful 101... though i guess that last one does have in-game achievements

Breath of the Wild, while implicitly keeping north up, takes place somewhere in its local planet's southern hemisphere, which is more immediately confusing because it messes up with where you think the sun would move unless you're australian or from some other southern country, and in that game some puzzles directly rely on the sun's movement. In an game where the sun's movement doesn't matter, people will basically never notice that kind of stuff.

there have been two threads for a couple years now, one for serious slow posting about cool runs and technical stuff and one for rapid fire liveposting. it seems like people are just using the remaining thread as a chat thread now which kinda sucks

the liveposting works better as a discord room and people really should not have posted splatoon porn but calling it one of the worst threads ever and threatening to ban anyone who opens a replacement is laughably stupid
