veni veni veni posted:Beyond the sloppy functionality sometimes it straight up doesn’t work. Like, in fallout 4 the backspace button doesn’t work, so combined with the laggy unresponsive presses it took me like 15 minutes of backing out completely just to name my character and log in to Bethesda. It's been faster for me to just pull out a USB keyboard and a usb-A to usb-c adapter any time I need to type something

I'm very confused because I could've sworn when I wanted to move stuff onto my deck I just plugged it into the USB port on my PC and it showed up as a drive in file explorer. Maybe that was a fever dream though?

I tried to set up ps5 remote play on the deck last night but apparently the script to retrieve your PS5 account id broke like a week ago and no one's figured out how to fix it

It actually runs better than it does on my PC lol. But also I found that I'd rather just play other genres that are better suited for controller.

negativeneil posted:Chiaki is the way, as another poster said. Beware, though, at some point you need to get your PSN user id and it's tough if you aren't comfortable running a python script on your computer. Does it still actually work? All the tutorials I've found link to the same web script, which is broken as of a week or two ago.

It's not the smoothest experience but you only have to do it once. Heck yeah thanks, gonna try it

I spent way too long trying to figure out why the gently caress steam rom manager was listing some game called mahjong pretty girls battle, with some big titty anime artwork, before figuring out this is how it lists SNES tactics ogre for some reason.

For some reason Core Keeper runs very well on deck, but gets like 10fps on my PC even though my PC isn't *that* old (it can still run basically every new release albeit not on high settings). So I appreciate the deck for that, somehow being more powerful than my desktop.

Party Boat posted:Any recommendations for chill online co-op games that work well on the Deck? Mrs Boat and I have played a lot of Astroneer together and we're looking for something to scratch that same itch. We have two PCs in the house but my dream is to be chilling on the day bed in their study playing on deck while they game on their PC Core Keeper. I have a server going with 5 friends and some of them just spend the entire time farming, fishing, or working on the base, while some of us go out fighting bosses and things. It's great.

The writing and voice acting is really endearing, I've only been introduced to two characters so far (Throne the assassin/thief and Temenos the hilariously condescending cleric/inquisitor) but both of their stories have been a lot of fun. Do you need to have played the first one?

The action was just an annoying interruption to that.

I'll happily buy my own copy (I'm a big kid now who can afford that) but there's no place I trust for a backup that won't potentially do something horrible to my SD, hence why I was looking up how to rip my own... which, not surprisingly, is way too heavy in the Effort department. When I try to click on chapter 2 or three it doesn't open the game it brings me to the store page. Does anyone know how to fix this or how to get around it? iirc when you launch the game, it pops up an external window asking you which chapter you want to play, so that's probably where it's falling apart in the deck interface Rolo posted:Oh dang they’re on chapter 3 already? Is it worth getting now? I watched a friend play the first and I thought it was neat but I found it short. The puzzles have gotten better but the game is still *insanely* buggy, I had to download other people's saves multiple times in the first couple hours of chapter 3 because of game-breaking bugs.
