IEPs (individual education plans) are the extra accommodations disabled students receive through their special education liaisons to help them complete the coursework. During the training elementary/high school teachers undergo, IEP stuff is one of the first things you are taught and spend the most time on because it is a very serious legal right disabled students are entitled to. If you do not follow their IEP as an educator, you are in violation of federal law and can be hosed quite seriously.

Unless the teacher is grading on a curve this wouldn't negatively impact the student with the IEP? think of it this way the teacher understands the entire class needs more time to learn the material and is trying to get them used to taking the test with alittle bit of extra time so that when the time comes they can do better with less time. now the iep student is going to have the current time . so she isnt getting the benefit of the extra time to learn the entire class is. she has her standard time with no drop off after a semester of learning the material.
