Yeah, I'm pretty near sighted and if I wear a VR headset without glasses things are blurry. From what I've read online they're set up for an average focal distance of around 5 feet.

I have a copy of a friend's house key because she lives 5 minutes away and if she ever locks her keys inside then I can just go unlock it for her. Or feed her cats if she gets stuck working a double out of nowhere.

The important distinction is she wanted me to have the key, and I didn't just go out and make myself a copy of it without her permission.

Car people weight in if thisbis necessarily the case.

I thought you could easily do enough damage on even a cheap ride to cost more than it would to replace the whole car. Like if you wreck the entire side it might cost thousands to get new parts, have them painted to match the rest, and get them installed. Even though you'd never actually do that.

Usually if the damage is that much, you'd just write off the car and get a new (or used) one. A friend of mine had a year-old Civic that someone backed into, and the total repair bill came out to something like 9 grand and his insurance wrote it off. Then again, he went through insurance and this guy doesn't want to.

15 grand from a sideswipe sounds like "the frame was damaged" territory to me, which would be something you'd probably want a new car for anyways.

From my experience, we're entirely expected to be brick walls up until the moment we express ourselves, but our expression has to be one of the approved, nice ones. Kindness, caring, empathy, thoughtfulness. Got negative emotions bottled up in there? "Man up, you loving pussy." Or "No one cares, shut up."

EDIT: Or the even better ones, where they go "You can open up to me, I want to listen and be there for you" and then when you do literally the only reaction you get is "oh, that sucks" and the conversation getting dropped. That one's a loving blast.

Had dad/OP's partner previously been primary custodian, and what was the story there? Out of the OP's hands of course, but will have dramatically affected the impact on stepdaughter.

Also, with the stepdaughter suddenly going to biomom's full time, did her father have to pay additional child support, making the OP's family finances harder as well?

Lunchtime is about the ideal time to be making special dinner plans, really. You shouldn't be working, especially if your lunch is unpaid. Texts are pretty quick as long as both parties are paying attention, and even a quick "hey I want to go somewhere different for supper" text any time before lunch can make it easier to accommodate, both physically and mentally.
