Since this is the general Nintendo thread, I'll post this here.

I keep having this video recommended to me, and so I finally started watching/listening to it during work today. One thing that stuck out was how, for the most part, Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World were developed together, rather than SMW being started after production of 3 finished.

And this is noteworthy to me because I specifically remember, even as a 5-6 year old back then who was Nintendo/Mario-obsessed, hearing rumours on the playground. Aside from the completely stupid ones that I've told here before ("There's going to be a black Mario brother named 'Mongolia!'"), I distinctly recall my friends and I learning that Mario 3 and 'Mario 4' were being made at the same time.

I grew up and went to school in eastern Canada. Just a small town in a small province. If it was in the US, it'd be considered a flyover place, so I have no idea how this specific and actually true rumour made it to my little spot in the world but it did.

Was that sort of thing announced in Nintendo Power or something?

Had a problem with my 2fa where I had to reset my Google authenticator and Nintendo login system did not like that. I had to email customer support to get 2fa taken off and I only managed it because I was able to get my Nintendo ID off of my 3ds. I'm not sure I'll put 2fa back on, as this felt like a close call.

Yeah, like others have stated, the problem is the Google Authenticator app. I learned this the hard way, too, and is precisely the reason I use 1Password.

This is the best idea. They even have �Simple Mode� in Mario Tennis, where it�s just the game with no gimmick/trick shots/etc.

FWIW, my Pro controller started to get drift too. I went through with it and it was pretty easy. That was the first handheld I�ve ever opened up.

My intimidation comes trying to replace the battery in the actual Switch. I�m not going to touch that. I�ll just buy an OLED if it gets too bad.

I only mentioned the screen/stick damage thing because the brick is sort of big, so I didn�t know if there was enough room between the brick and the system to feel comfortable

edit: I have the Amazon Basics hard case which will hold the Switch and a few games, but clearly not the charger.
And you can totally drop it and stomp on it if you want to without fear :v:

For controllers, the Nintendo Pro Controller is the gold standard. Also good are 8BitDO Pro2.

I agree with the Pro being the Gold Standard, but I�ve had to fix mine three times due to the fact I keep getting drift in a clean, smoke free house.

e: I�m not dirty either. I�ll never understand why this happens. I got new/repaired JoyCons from Nintendo for free, but the Pro Controller, come on

I'm never going to hack/mod/jailbreak or whatever the thing (online is fun), but if launch day Switches are still going for $300 to someone who wants to do that, I'd take it, and go OLED.
