Over the weekend, Adrian suffered a traumatic head injury.

Although Mr. Beltre insisted he was fine, he is currently in intensive care awaiting emergency surgery.

Foul play was the cause of the injury, and a suspect is currently in custody.

Leon (pictured) is the prime suspect in the attack due to the fact that this rear end in a top hat did the exact same thing a year ago.

probably a dave roberts type who's not an every day starter but is used as a pinch runner a lot to steal a base in a close game

e2: Rickey Henderson is at 28.9% which is absurd considering how much he got on base, jesus christ

I was watching the '82 NLCS on youtube a couple days ago and a similarly funny play happened, Willie McGee hit a low liner and Dale Murphy dove for it, missed, and it went past him all the way to the center field wall. By the time the right fielder ambled his way over to the ball McGee (who was blazing fast) was already at third--but he inexplicably stopped, even though the coach was waving him on home for the inside the parker. He could have rounded home and gotten back to first standing up by the time the ball got back to the infield.

the alltimer weird triple is still Ben Revere

Nearly 40 year old Jim Thome will also always be a classic because of weird field geometry

If the Astros are out of it, I'll usually root for a team that hasn't ever won the WS over a team that has won before. Tho bias can intercede a bit with my rooting order:

Astros >>>
Mariners > Orioles > Cubs >>
Jays > Twins > Rays >>
Brewers > Phillies > Dodgers >>
Marlins > Braves

I like the Marlins just fine (was rooting really hard for em in 2003 over the Yankees, for instance), but... their 2/2 WS perfection just kinda pushes them down a bit in the future WS priority order.

And while the Rays and Brewers haven't won a WS before (and I'd like for them to), I'm just a bit more of a fan of teams like the Orioles, Cubs, Jays, and Twins comparatively.

My pitch as a Twins fan for people to join the bandwagon is that we have all four major sports here and the last championship any of them have won was in 1991. Of all the other markets in that list I think Baltimore is the next farthest back with the Ravens in 2013, but I wouldn't begrudge anyone rooting for them, and especially not Seattle.

I feel like you're implying that there should be one with that wink but no I can't remember any Minnesota/Toronto beef.

Seattle and Baltimore are more getting passes for their baseball franchises specifically just being down bad for basically forever than because their recent titles are a decade ago. Toronto has at least had a fair amount of ups.

are you sure? If a team trades for him this winter and takes him to the postseason a half dozen times over the remainder of his career, manages to win a title, you don't think he decides that's his preference? Especially if it's the Phillies?

If he's fed up with Arte and asks for a trade, you don't think that's indicative of his mindset?

Mike Piazza was drafted by the Dodgers through the grace of Lasorda, had his best seasons in LA, put up more WAR in LA than NY, but was soured by the trade and has an NY on his plaque.

e: a second hint because I thought of it and wish I had made it the initial one: Trevor Bauer probably hates/fears this player
