I just bookmarked this thread because I kind of got interested in Transformers after having a glimpse of the Prime series and loving the animation on it. I don't know that much about what toys are hot or not, but apparently someone made a decent writeup on the selection in my country. I would want to know if this is "great" or "meh" or somewhere in between. And my mom told me that there might be some transformers toys up in the attic of the house, running the dates I have a reason to believe those are G1 toys though I'm not that interested in any treasure hunt to go check.

Gammatron 64 posted:The selection and prices in Iceland are absurd. Australians often have to pay double what Americans do, whereas folks from Iceland have to pay the equivalent of $110 for a $30 toy. Good thing I'm more into comics or TV series than toys. Good grief I never would have had any idea that we were overpaying by that much compared to the US. I was at that store showcased in that article and special ordered MTMTE books. Well, I think so since I came in there without having done any research and that the man at the counter was not that informative of the comic stock. And to let you know, Iceland is not a English-speaking country.

And I'm not going to join the toy collection thing any time soon, even though the article indicates we get better stock than some stores in the UK.

Well, I had the chance to check the attic at home to see if there were any transformers toys as my mom said. However I didn't find anything, but then my mom said they had been tiny, while I had been looking for the regular sized toys I the same size that's being sold now. Would there have been any "smaller than a smartphone" transformers been sold circa 1989-1992 or so? Iced Cocoa fucked around with this message at 21:15 on Jun 27, 2013 |

In regard of who gets what armor/title, I remember in the decepticon issue, at the end, that deathbot comes carrying a list of the dead he has visited. I can't remember all the names, but Ultra Magnus and Drift were on that list (it was 18 months later kind of thing) How does that factor into those theories? While at the "Nerd store" in my country (The only one that specializes in collectibles, comics, DVDs and whatever sci-fi/fantasy novels there are out) I picked up the MtMtE volumes, one of the staff there is apparently a big fan of upselling, or of Transformers. He told me Whirl figurine was coming, and two other figurines from the IDW comics were already out. And when I said I was not into collecting, but the only figure I would be interested in owning was Soundwave Masterpiece, he said he could special order that for me. However given the lousy exchange rate and the shipping cost, it would be double the US price. Is it worth it? I'm loving stoked over the fact that getting Soundwave Masterpiece is actually possible for me. Or should I check if he can get "Swerve with drink tray" figurine when that comes out?

Edit: Nope, never mind that speculation. That was a great way to finish Transformers Prime. Even has some foundation for RiD or MtMtE when you're reaching but I doubt they'll go that way. I just ordered Soundwave MasterPiece from Takara through the specialist store. Want to know Iceland's insane prices? $228 for Soundwave MP, $82 for each pack of two of his tapes. It's cheaper than the Hasbro version. As for extra cassettes, I'll figure out in time if I want to buy Rumble/Ravage or not. Not going to touch on the other two anyway. The guy at the store also tried to up-sell this, telling me about Soundblaster and how he has Ratbat, the coolest of them all. I am not that interested.

I also noticed one thing just now. Empyrean Suite is a song that Skids hears in his mind, something revealed in his session with Chromedome, I forget which issue. Then Ratchet reveals in #16 that the Empyrean Suite is Ultra Magnus' favorite. So it's not that hard to put two and two together. I don't know why the nudge gun didn't erased the memory of the song. As for the Phase Sixer talk, I'm thinking that Brainstorm's doing the research into that now. He probably knows about the whatever ingredient used to make the Phase Sixers from Chromedome, and given that Brainstorm has probably worked with less, he might be using that point one percenter to make the autobot Phase Sixer that Prowl wants. So many plot hooks for "Season Two". Rodimus is the one required to find the Knights in order to save Cybertron, at least according to Drift. Pharma's body is stolen by whatever Skids went to. The Spark Skids spoke to spoke of Luna 1, or something that shared Luna 1's pattern on the dark side. Tyrest's up and running, Brainstorm's point one percenter + Prowl wants Phase Sixer. Someone opened Brainstorm's briefcase and Brainstorm has tasked Swerve to find out who did it and probably figure out why he's not missing a head right now. Am I missing anything? ˅˅˅ I got no excuse, sorry. Iced Cocoa fucked around with this message at 23:26 on Sep 26, 2013 |

So, I read an old interview with Roberts about how there would be a clear "Before Dark Cybertron" and "After Dark Cybertron" divide in the comics instead of Dark Cybertron being totally forgettable. I decided to read the comics and found this little gem: MtMtE #22 An Ammonites combiner is holding Thunderclash hostage, rambling about their war. MtMtE #24 (Dark Cybertron #4) The main characters of the Lost Light segment encounter the Ammonites elsewhere and draw their fire so the ship will not be destroyed. They find Metroplex. So Metroplex can somehow destroy a planet.

So I doubt that Rodimus would abandon it, and Optimus has said that he trusts Rodimus to continue his quest and trusts Bee to be in charge of the autobots on Cybertron. As seen in one of the last pages of Dark Cybertron #1, Rodimus' body is going to be crushed. It might be that he could end up wearing Megatron's shell, because after Megatron's attempted takeover earlier, I doubt he would turn to the Autobot side. As for Wingblade, that's most likely going to happen on Cybertron, but all we know is that she annoys Starscream and I can't make any theories based on this little.

I have just seen Skids few days ago, but given where I live buying and sending will probably cost the price of three Skids on ebay. There is also in the same store a Metroplex that has been unsold for more than two months. Edit: Maybe expand on this a bit. I recently bought Legion Prowl and Ratchet to have at work since I always need to be messing with something which usually ends up with me destroying pens. I'm pretty sure that both are some third-shift kind of deal because they're both lovely. Prowl's spoiler isn't shiny looking and dull, so is one of his rear wheel fender, creating this asymmetric look in him. And if nudging him slightly he'll snap out of place in his car form. Ratchet only has one issue, one of his wheels don't move. Each cost the equivalent of $17.50. And I did not feel ripped off. I don't dare to think what Swerve will cost when he hits the store. Hahaha oh god I was looking forwards to getting Swerve. Just called the store that specializes in this sort of thing, apparently the guy who does know his way around ordering TF toys went on a three month paternity leave, and all the other staff in the store don't knows if it is possible to order Cosmos/Swerve at all since their usual ordering sites do not have them listed. There are so many Skids and Goldbugs and Trailcutter and a Waspinator or two at the store but I'm probably never going to see Swerve.

There is also the thing where the message has not yet been sent. The whole casket thing reminds me of the whole Scavenger-con saga where they do deal with Grimlock being in stasis, while "don't look in the basement" is because of Overlord. The whole Aequitas is a bit stranger. I don't have the issues at hand right now, but it was basically a supercomputer that calculated guild and was used in trials over Autobots, and kept all the data of their crimes which the Wreckers were sent to recover. But given how Overlord is, I feel more that he didn't care one bit about Aequitas, hellbent on getting Megatron to notice him so his "excuse" to torture Fort Max was pretty much killing time, Aequitas or not. Basically Aequitas was never his goal to begin with.

Given that Cyclonus is getting wrecked in the Dead Universe and Hardhead is alive and well I guess it's very hard to kill Hardhead to begin with, and it doesn't have to do only with his hard noggin. And the bolt that "kills" Brainstorm comes from Nova Prime's "shell", so it might be that Brainstorm was in some way killed by the Dark Universe. Or it might be like a death clock, except it just outright tells you if you're dying or not. The green spark might very well be his last chance to survive.
