Starbound is going to be an engine.

This engine will be used both for really gross sex mods, where 16 bit birds bump cloaca's, and really awesome space station's of the 13th variety. Both will be terrible depressing and awesome.

I want to mod the game, I think I'll start simple with a quick "Pick Axe" overhaul. Basically, I'm planning to up the Matter Manipulator to 3, and the Pickaxe's up to 4x4, then also make them a SMIDGE bit quicker.

Especially with the whole soul memory system. Every soul you spend repairing your stuff, ends up making it more likely you'll face dudes who outlevel you. It sucks.

I really hope they take the suggestion about using a hotkey to switch "hotbars" into a build mode which has decorations, blocks, torches and stuff, and a combat mode, which has weapons food and stuff like that.

If anyone wants to abandon this dead game that's stagnated without updates. Crea has released it's 0.9 version, it looks like it has everything Starbound did but does it a lot better. (Especially if you remember DoF's combat gif.)
