Within the framework of the European Union, now A50 is triggered the UK has to leave unless everyone else says 'no we know you didn't mean it'. Withing the framework of the United Kingdom, Parliament is sovereign. It can do whatever the gently caress a majority of MPs want to do. 'What a majority of MPs want to do' practically means that Parliament can do anything that won't get a substantial number of MPs turfed out of office. Which in the current atmosphere, going back on Brexit would.

more generally: yes, there exist people in the ~social justice sphere~ who persecute people who voice opinions they don't like. the reason that this thread is laughing at you is because that's exactly what happens to women and minorities whenever they voice their own opinion, but on a much more damaging scale. you've just never noticed it because your (my) group weren't subject to anything like it until very, very recently.

It is really important to take the incredible emotional response that terrorism prompts, and compare it against your response to fears of many other things that you don't really think about day-to-day. If you find yourself worrying far more about your loved ones dying from terrorism than dying from a car accident, then you should consider worrying more about car accidents or less about terrorism.
