lancemantis posted:there are workable egg replacements for some things -- like you can make meringue and related meringue-like things with garbanzo/chickpea bean soakings, but if you were trying to make something else that needed an egg replacement for a different behavior, you'd have to go find something different to me at least, even if i were otherwise completely vegetarian, i'd have no issue eating certified humane eggs. i don't see the chickens as being harmed. unless it's like a real big egg i guess

one thing that is nice about big research universities vs. state schools is the resources. like they might just bring in the author of the text for a guest lecture, things like that. probably overwhelming / counterproductive as an undergrad wherever works best for you imo

speaking of the sky looking different, there are a bunch of historical supernovas that would have been cool as heck to see. in the year 1006, there was a supernova so bright that it was visible during the day (bright enough to cast shadows), and substantially lit up the sky at night would have been neat to see
