Really scraping the D list of comic book heroes now

I like those GotG movies, but we all probably would have been better off without GotG because then maybe the executives would have maintained the idea that loser characters no one cares won't sell movie tickets

Iron Man was a loser character nobody cared about when the MCU made his movie. Ditto Captain America and Thor.

The entire MCU was made up of the poo poo garbage loser characters nobody wanted to buy when they sold off the "good" characters like Spider-Man and the X-Men.

I think the Scream movies are woefully underappreciated, and might have the highest consistent quality of any slasher franchise.

Mr Alleyway and I recently watched Scary Movie and Scary Movie 2. The second one is borderline unwatchable in comparison to the first one which has actual Naked Gun style jokes and punchlines in it.

Scary Movie 3 rebounds a bit in the quality department, and might have the single best gag in film history.

Wife and I just braved the COVID Box to see 5cream (went to a two in the afternoon weekday showing to mitigate risk) and it was really good. They info-dumped everything you needed to know about the series so far in a really clever way, the kills were good, and nobody shouted "evil dies tonight" even once.

I guess I never read it as her hallucinating, but she was definitely obsessed/delusional.

The shot of her running in front of the windows in the climax, and the disconnect between reality and her reflection, is one of my favorite shots in film history.

Well the actress herself was definitely hallucinating but after it's revealed her manager was behind it all along the actres seems to go back to normal and the movie ends on that terrible credits song that sounds like it came out of an 80s infomercial. Like, sure, "now that the culprit is in an insane asylum my life is happy again" rather than "I've spent months being harassed, stalked, hallucinating and nearly murdered, but I'm healthy now and totally don't need psychiatric help."

The end of the movie is just a letdown and it's definitely Kon's weakest film. He got much better at directing after Perfect Blue.

This is all true. But as a worst film in a writer/director's career it's pretty loving good.

Some actual feedback: I made it 30 second in, then skipped ahead randomly and watched another 10 seconds. It was unbearable because of the bit you're doing where you're fake drunk or something. Like, there was a clever joke (the title implying Tarzan had already been to the lost city) but the weird delivery ruined it.

The movie review/breakdown movies I enjoy don't do stupid characters. The ones I hate do. Be less like the Nostalgia Critic and more like Brandon's Cult Movie Reviews.

Unless that's not a bit and you're like that in real life, in which case please do something about that.

A few days ago while clicking around on Youtube I thoughtlessly clicked on some video about how badly Amazon had screwed up the new LOTR series. Within a minute it became apparent that it was just some bearded white guy complaining about nonwhite actors, so I shut it off. This was enough for Youtube to open the floodgates and start recommending a seemingly never-ending supply of bearded-dude-complains-about-LOTR-diversity channels. At this point I think I have blocked at least 10 different channels, but the almighty algorithm keeps finding new ones to recommend to me.

So fair warning, don't click anything LOTR-related on Youtube for a while unless you want to be flooded with videos like "Amazon REMOVES cringe Lord of the Rings "superfan" shill video - Rings of Power all about DIVERSITY" (actual title in my recommended today) for the next forever.

If you delete that initial video from your watch history it should help
