I violently weep at Cronenberg's The Fly and any incarnation of King Kong.

I think their last 3 albums hold up really well as long as I space out my listens. I liked The Locust's New Erections and that's about it on them.

Oh yeah, late to the convo, but as far as buying blu rays, I probably won't ever buy say 12 Years a Slave or The Artist on blu ray, but something like Shock Waves or The Deadly Spawn? Yes. A thousand times yes.

All I know is I like The Crow because of the main villain doing a fun southern sleezeball accent that makes no sense with his character. Dollar Bill is his name too and Bai Ling is his wife. 5 star character. Fire it up.

I have it on bluray because it was perpetually in the Best Buy $6.99 bin. I have my plans for the evening. Poor Tin Tin, Funboy and...T-Bird? There was a Skank too I think. Anyways, they get the gently caress killed out of them.

HUNDU THE BEAST GOD posted:The thing that makes it genius is that it manages to be profoundly sad, something I feel horror movies don't go for nearly as often as they should. Cronenberg's best work always manages to do that. The Brood is a brutally miserable experience Agreed not enough films do that. I thought The Babadook and Felt were the 2 most recent films that managed to touch on those sorts of human misery. I wonder if it had to do with his increasing budgets, he seemed to work well within limits and once those limits were removed, his dumbass excesses were easier to indulge. Although, I did find that Sin City held up ok for me. There's a lot of dumb stuff in it, but Marv's story is so energetic that I got sucked into it all again. Bruce Willis' story fell flat for me on the 2nd go around though.
