Lol, advocating for white genocide. I've got a somewhat relevant anecdote: the province of Ontario recently elected Doug Ford as premier. The brother of Rob Ford. Yes, that loving Rob Ford. Last year, the liberal party (basically centrist Dems) had just inexplicably passed some of the first new labour laws of consequence for the poor in a while, including a minimum wage hike and things like paid sick and bereavement days for every employee in the province. Naturally, one of the first things the Ford government did after taking power (right after forcing schools to adopt the 1993 sex ed curriculum because can't acknowledge gay people exist or talk about the crazy socialist concept of consent) was to claw these laws back. This all cam into effect this year and some of the guys I manage, who were pretty much all vocal Ford supporters, are slowly realising that they really liked paid sick days and how lovely it is to suffer financially for something that's out of their control. Naturally they redirect their anger towards management for screwing them out of paid sick days instead of the guy they elected who took away their sick days. On the whole, it's rather sad because now I see guys coming into work sick because they can't afford a day off, instead of staying home and recovering faster (and not getting their co-workers sick as well). In short, it's not just you that's dumb as hell, America. Rampant stupidity respects no border.

It's a dumb model and I routinely try to point this out, but it's like punching a stone. I got a talking to just the other day for refusing to punish an employee that took too many (unpaid) sick days he had take 3 YTD and I had to argue that this was a reasonable number . The reality is capitalism is garbage to workers and strong unions and good labour protection laws are the only way to force the higher ups to do things like offer paid sick days. There's several layers between me and the ceo and I could honestly be one level below him and I still wouldn't be able to make the decision to pay sick days. The second the ceo found out we were doing more than we're legally mandated to, the axe would fall and the sick days would be taken away. It's capitalism and it's a poo poo sandwich; no amount of additional profit will motivate them to see their employees as human. Collective bargaining or regulation are the only ways they'll ever get sick pay. The point of my anecdote is that some of these guys shot themselves in the dick and are blaming others for their own stupidity when it's painfully obvious why they no longer have paid sick days or bereavement leave.

My boomer mother had her brain broken by the internet and made the rational decision to pull all her retirement investments to get a generator, some solar panels, a safe, and a bunch of silver bars (for the apocalypse). You see, she'll just use the silver to keep living the high life when the anarchist punks take over. I asked her if I could see her silver. When she opened the safe I pocketed it all. When she asked for it back I said no. When she got very upset I gave it back. I think the lesson may have been lost on her. Anyway, she's broke now and survives off abnb and uber income and is absolutely hosed for retirement. But that doesn't really matter because she's 63 with limited mobility but the rapture will be any day now! E: and, yes, she hates immigrants specifically South American ones. She lives in Canada. She was born in war torn Europe and he parents fled for better prospects and she got to live a relatively comfortable life as a result.

Add some regulation and the problem is solved. When people or companies find loopholes, rewrite the regulation. It's pretty loving simple but the wave of idiot brain ideology that's been and is still sweeping the globe makes the average person think regulation is super bad for everything. E: also, enforce that regulation.
