It might be frustrating for a coach, but is there an option for tips to play gimmick/bad builds more competently?

I don't care about which ELO I get to, since from what I've read in here they're all toxic, so I'd sooner run machine gun Lulu or other gimmick builds.

Getting better at CS and especially situational awareness and vision control are things I'd like to do. I realize it takes time, and while I'm generally limited on time if I follow good habits during the time I play I'll enjoy it more.

The game is actually biased to make 3stars harder, especially from high tier units. The way it works is there is a set pool for each champion and when a player takes a champion it gets taken out of the pool (selling adds it back). So each slot on your roll bar rolls first to see what tier it is, then it rolls to on that tier table and places whatever champion it rolls. As you take champions out the likelihood of those champions coming up again lower.

Let's say you're trying to make 3star Yasuo. There are 5 tier 5 champions and 10 each at tier 5, so 50 champions picks all over. If no other tier 5 is taken out yet you have a 10/50 chance for a tier 5 to be Yasuo. Once you've taken out 8 Yasuo you have a 1/42 chance to get Yasuo (again assuming no other tier 5s).

The numbers are:
39 tier 1
26 tier 2
21 tier 3
13 tier 4
10 tier 5

For tier 1 it doesn't matter much unless a bunch of people are going for the same tier 1. Tier 2 you're reducing your chances by a third. At tier 3 you're almost halving your chances to see the 9th vs the 1st. And if it's a very popular tier 3 that game it's a nightmare. Beyond that it's pretty tough to 3star.

I don't bother trying hard to 3star anything but tier 1 unless it's a unit I'm stacking items on like Ashe or Rengar.

Oh and the drop rates of units change as you go further in player levels. So the deeper you go the harder it is to get tier 1s and even 2s (3s stay solid once they hit 30%, the later tiers always improve with higher player levels). So that's another way 3stars can get harder assuming they're early units.

And stacking three stars is no guarantee of victory. My first victory was climbing from the bottom to beat this guy, and in the very end he still couldn't believe that he had lost. I could definitely improve, though: I need to get a better sense of when to reroll versus spamming level up or econ. The late game was even between us (I was one loss away from losing for a while) until the rift herald dropped a rapid fire cannon for Draven. I greatly prefer Lulu to Cho'gath since she ults far more often with Spear of Shojin, but the void bonus worked with guardians to protect the group. I picked up Shen because Katrina was using BotRK and I wanted the group bonus from blademaster too.

Been on a winstreak lately by not leveling up early and instead just getting as many T1's as possible upgraded and then basing my synergies off those, once you get a couple gold units you can basically just afk on winstreak gold until you hit 50g and spend any extra on levelups, after level 4-5 it's rarer to find any more T1's compared to random blue eves, poppys or other trash.

I'll confess, seeing Lulu 3-starred in that second place team was a huge surprise for me.

Regarding your strat, do you reroll at all during the lower stages or just take T1 as they come?

Oh yeah. Tried it twice. The first game went poorly because I never saw a rod.

The second was the other way around because I was able to make three lockers on Ahri and the results were hilarious.

The more I post about a game, the less I'm actually playing it.

I can start posting more about TFT now, because since today's patch the game crashes immediately after committing me to matchmaking and any attempt to reconnect comes with the cost of another crash.

Even their themed events/skins could easily generate better games outside of the league client which they were shoe-horned in on.

With so many games on the horizon, maybe they're planning to go full Mario since people have their characters and you can easily have them fill different roles to fit their costumes.

I'd definitely gently caress around with a serviceable Odyssey shooter
