Hire Jeff Fisher again so he can find a way to 8-8-1.

If the OJ saga had gone down a decade later, dude would have a job as a judge in America's Got Talent, and hell, I still think he has a decent shot at it. You just can't fall off the map anymore in this media era.

I really did think Houston was going to be the unparalleled tire fire of the AFC South, I never expected Urban to crater this hard, this fast. Just incredible. I will almost be able to deal with the shame of losing to the the Jets if it means that Derrick Henry personally gets Meyer fired.

I kinda wonder what would've happened if he'd gone the full non-apology route and said, "What I do in my personal time is no one's business, gently caress off." If he hadn't hitched his image so much to Tim Tebow and Papa John's and all this wholesome conservative family values culture poo poo, he probably wouldn't have to do any of this. Then again, I keep thinking modern society is less concerned about people's affairs than they were in the past and then I keep seeing them being titillated by it. Doesn't help he left his team to go do this poo poo.

The joke with David Stern was always "nobody fucks with him because he knows where all the bodies are buried," and that always made me roll my eyes because how many bodies are actually in any sports league's closet anyway, but holy poo poo if Goodell isn't showing commissioners absolutely are where they are because "they know where the bodies are buried," this absolutely was a personal mission to get rid of Gruden for insulting him personally and forgetting who has what hidden where. And now it all subsides back in the ocean like some sated kaiju.

I know it probably didn't effect much because it's not like the Dolphins' loss came from time management, but those two Flores challenges really just stick in my mind as prime examples of, "The dumber team today in a game against Urban loving Meyer." Like, the Jags had the body language of a team that was going to collectively Vontae Davis at the end of the game for the first half and then they got into the game and won, and all I can think of is those dumbass challenges.

Denver's won games and doesn't have a real quarterback, those both don't seem like things that necessitate an emergency situation like a mid-season firing.

I don't think the whole "Urban Meyer is bad at X's and O's," has always been the conventional wisdom, I remember ESPN gushing about his use of tight ends or some poo poo back when he was at Florida and how it influenced Belichick's use of Hernandez and Gronk at the time. Of course, there was more Tebow hooplah back then too, and also, ESPN, but that is something I vaguely remember.

I'll be honest, I had more fun keeping up with the Urban Meyer saga this season than watching my own team. I'm not even saying that in an AFC South schadenfreude way, it was legitimately one of the most fascinating coach drama since, like, Jim Harbaugh.

I still think they're better off getting Leftwich honestly. I'd rather try to drum up some excitement over this team than just be like, "Yeah, we'll stop the skid, but, you know, this team still doesn't have its coach of the future, so, y'know, is what it is."
