I'd be interested in getting into raiding, although I'd need to really work my rear end off (not just on the Double XP weekend) to get something to the appropriate levels. I do have a Sorc that I'm working up on JC at the moment (and need to get into TNG), although based on What Super3 said below healing is pretty much covered. I was never very good at playing a tank in WoW (or even trying to play one in SWToR), but I could work up a DPS if that's what's needed. (Also, is anyone online currently that could invite me into TNG?)

gently caress me dead, but the lag today is horrendous. Normally I can get about a 180ms ping (which from Australia to the East Coast servers isn't too shabby), but today I'm lucky if it's less than 500ms... causing the connection to drop every 20 minutes or so. [Edit:] Just ran a speedtest comparison to a couple of servers based in Ashton VA (where the SWToR East Coast servers are allegedly located). Pings are between 240-265ms, yet I'm getting double that in-game.... Same tests to Santa Clara (alleged home of the West Coast servers) is 180-190ms. In-game to Harbinger server my ping is around 195ms. Yay. OzCavalier fucked around with this message at 07:40 on Apr 12, 2014 |

Most races cost 1.5million credits or 600 Cartel coins (except Cathar, who are only available with cartel Coins and are thus available account wide, not Legacy [server] specific).

Ok, so after the discussion the other week about additional character slots (beyond the normal 12) I purchased a token during the sale event and applied it. Bingo! 13 slots. So I submitted a ticket to BioWare about my problem (purchased an additional character slot token last year, used it, no extra slot was applied, etc). The CSR (Stephen) who got my ticket looked into it and sent me a new token, which I used, and ta-da - new character slot totalling 14. Woo-hoo! Or so I thought..... The next day I logged on, and I was back to only 13 slots again.. the new slot had disappeared! So I sent a new ticket, referenceing the old one. Again, the CSR (Eugene) looked into it, agreed that something had gone wrong, and refunded the token. So I just used that new token, got the little animation thingy which seemingly indicates it worked correctly. However, not trusting the system, I logged out and logged straight back in - still only 13 slots. So, Bug report time, or does this game just really, really hate me??

Realistically though Rasmussen, if you want to play with goons on a regular basis you'll need to bite the bullet and join Jedi Covenant and just live with the lag - it's really not THAT bad. As such, I came across the following article:quote:Not only is ESO proving to have retained nearly 800,000 subscribers through June, but apparently SWTOR, LotRO, and TERA (even Lineage) are all doing quite well as well according to new research from SuperData. Read on for details. An interesting graph from the article shows SWToR has (an estimated) 6% of the market share for subscription-based MMOS, coming in 4th behind WoW, Lineage, and TERA Online Full article is HERE for anyone interested.

If you give it a Euro server IP like 159.153.72.252, it'll still say Redwood City but a traceroute shows routing to Level3 servers in Dublin before disappearing. That is true. Perhaps I am confused, as when I previously did the same ip trace to my old Asia-Pacific server, back when they were running and I was having an issue with late-night latency, I got an ip address of 175.45.88.251 - which is from a block located at the server farm in Sydney for Vocus P/L, who formerly ran the APac servers for SWToR (until EA closed the servers down).

Tried this just now and found that, even though I was leaving the preview window open, it kept switching back to my default (equipped) armors when I went to pick the next item (ie. previewed a wrist piece, then when trying to select a belt from another set, the wrist piece defaulted back to what I had equipped, not the piece I'd just previewed). What I'd really like is something like the old City of Heroes Costume Creator, that allowed you to use all the different costume pieces and colors to 'make' a character outside of the game...
