I ordered the nexus 5 from the google play store last night. Says it will ship in 2-3 weeks. Can't wait to ditch sprint! Any suggestion on a cheap pay as you go plan. Looking for 2gb high speed data and low mins and texts. Thinking of straight talk, any better plans?

I have that $30 plan and it's pretty great. Though I've gone past 100 minutes a few times I'm happy with it overall. You don't need to get it from Wal-mart either, I just did everything online. But you won't be able to keep your old phone number when signing up.

Woah, that is awesome. So how do I sign up for that if I didnt purchase my phone from walmart or tmo?

This is only true if you are a current T-Mobile subscriber because the $30 5GB plan is for new T-Mobile subscribers. If you are coming from Sprint you will activate your SIM online and then call T-Mobile and request your number to be ported over. That will close your Sprint account. Do not close your Sprint account yourself or you won't get your number ported.

I did this plan last summer and couldn't be happier. Especially coming from Sprint the network speed is awesome.

EDIT: If you wait T-Mobile regularly has $1 or free SIMs. I'd probably wait at least through Black Friday before ordering

EDIT2: To activate you just purchase a microsim from T-Mobile and activate the sim online. Just make sure you pick the $30 5GB plan and not the $30 1500 minute plan. Stick it in your phone. Done. GSM is freedom!

Thank you!!! That is an amazing price.

This isnt supposed to sound snarky, but when you plug in a phone to a USB port on a computer it charges at 550ma, is that right? I'm just wondering if this wireless charging is worth it to replace my charging setup where I use my computer. Can it charge more than one device at a time or does that depend on the wireless charger?

Anyone know what "sensors.qcom" is, which some days takes up to 15 % of my battery power (especially if I don't use my phone much over the day) on my Nexus 5? I'd guess something to do with Qualcomm from the name, but googling doesn't bring up much either:

This is the "pedometer" at the end of the month or so you should get a google card for your activity. This sensor is used to keep track of how much you walk. You will be able to dismiss it when you get the card popup. I doubt you will truly be able to disable the sensor doing that since google wants to know how many steps it takes to get into your heart. Also it appears to be inaccurate or at least surprising, it said I walked 30 miles in a week. I feel that is incorrect at counting steps. Mine does not use nearly as much CPU as your screenshot. I am also using piro meter: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.danielpiro.pirometer

My Nexus 5 drops the mobile connection, reboots and then does it again, usually it just loses mobile connection and says emergency only. It wont reestablish connection until I reboot and then it loses connection again either a few mins or few hours later. It worked great for the first week. The first nexus 5 had the same problem so I RMA'd it and the second one is now doing the same thing. Starts usually after a week of use. I have a third RMA request placed but I think this is a problem with the nexus 5 software/baseband as I have seen other reports of the same issue. Does anyone here have that problem or any idea if google is going to fix it? Its been a problem since the 4.0 release and still occurs with 4.4.2.

The other advantage the motox has in this regard is the oled screen only lights up the pixels used for the notification. The N5 has an LCD so it has to light the entire screen and show the notification on a black background. Still works excellent and I like it.

Nope, it only turns the screen on for a preset amount of time, I have mine set to one min cause its usually sitting in front of me at my desk at work. The screen lights up and I press the notification button on the screen and it shows me the message body and who sent it. I can either swipe to unlock, swipe to dismiss or swipe to turn off screen and save notification for later. The app has options for breathing notifications that will turn the screen on again after a set amount of time, and also an option to turn the screen on if taken out of your pocket or picked up from the table when its face down. I don't use those options because they will drain your battery.

As a simple lock screen notification tool it looks and works well. Doesn't drain the battery at all.
