The way I understood it, they're going to implement a way to 'move' (where you can surrender a plot as payment for a different empty plot) first before introducing a 4th housing area. Though more wards may be added to the current areas in the mean time depending on how long it takes to finish that.

They mentioned working on multi-FC chat channels over a year ago, though I imagine we'll get those around the same time they finally add the UI plug-in API.

Some of the earlier patches seemed to be downloadable shortly after patch notes went up, but the last few patches it seems that the download has only been available around an hour or so before the scheduled maintenance end time.

Another possibility is that most of the recent patches have also involved some backend datacenter work that would make turning on the login and update servers early an undesired complication.
