Also more immigration. But the same people complaining about population collapse are also generally anti-immigration, because what they really care about is white population collapse.

The fact that Western Europe, The US and Eastern Asia are desperate for young adults while millions of young adults live in poverty in countries like Nigeria because there aren’t enough jobs are asinine

In the end, we as a global society need to allow free migration so that people live where there are resources and infrastructure to support them. It would lead to life getting better for those who are left too (most people prefer living around the places they were born if possible), and migrant workers both send money home that bolster the local economy and invest in businesses at home where they expect that the same rules we have here are followed. It’s also very likely they become more tolerant for LGBT+ persons and other ethnicities

Certainly not against immigration (though it's not a simple and easy fix for everything either) but really we first need to unfuck our countries so that people can afford to and want to have children.

It’s not a simple or easy fix - and it does need a proper infrastructure to make it smoother because there will be issues

But at the same time, fixing our countries without increasing immigration will be very difficult. There are many childless people pushing 40 that won’t suddenly have three children just because our economy gets better - and because we have a lot of elderly boomers needing social services we need more people to sustain it. I’m also thinking that a fast timeline would be at least a decade if there aren’t any external factors that would speed it up

"Capital" may be most briefly described as wealth producing more wealth; and "capitalism" as the system directing that process. This latter term came into general use during the second half of the 19th century as a word chiefly signifying the world-wide modern system of organizing production and trade by private enterprise free to seek profit and fortune by employing for wages the mass of human labour. There is no satisfactory definition of the term, though nothing is more evident than the thing.

It should also be noted that many black people are sceptical to any and all new medicine because they've been used as guinea pigs in a lot of horrific poo poo the past 100 years - the U.S. military tested mustard gas on black soldiers, and the Tuskegee Syhilis Study from 1932-1978 infected black men with syphilis to see what the long term effects where despite it being a treatable disease.

Out of 400 - 28 patients had died directly from syphilis, 100 died from complications related to syphilis, 40 of the patients' wives were infected with syphilis, and 19 children were born with congenital syphilis by the end of the study

Re: Tesla chat

My impression is that Tesla has taken the shoddy quality control of US car manufacturers and dialled it up to eleven. You might have a good car delivered. You might have something unusable show up at your door costing you twice the price you've already paid in repairs before having to junk it. But people who are happy with them seem happy with them. I think the sales have dipped as Elon has been an arse lately - but it's still the most popular EV brand in Norway (where EVs account for over 90% of new car sales), and account for 26% of all sales including the ICEs

I think our strong consumer laws negate a bit of the lovely things about Tesla, like having to cover all unexpected costs for the first five years idk

I'd never dream of buying an American car though - not even a Ford built outside the US
