According to Idol you should be fine. I played and beat SR3 with that exact card and it went pretty well. I couldn't max anything out but I was above "average" settings the whole way with like 30-40 fps pretty steady except when lots and lots of poo poo was exploding all at once. Same engine only optimized it should go pretty respectably well for you, I think.

I just hope I don't have to update my drivers again. It's always such a pain in the rear end. gently caress ATI drivers forever.

The movement system is pure Prototype once you fully upgrade it (you do not start with the ability to run up walls at first; you need to do a Megaman X-style multi-walljump until you buy the upgrade). The process for finding upgrade points for your powers, however, is pure Crackdown: you collect shiny things on top of rooftops and those shiny things are everywhere.

I kinda disagree. The movement system feels like Crackdown 3 ripping off Prototype 1. It's floaty like Crackdown, and the jump charging goes from small hop to massive leap without any real way to measure your force before you let go, so you end up floating above poo poo looking down as you fall towards it constantly which is exactly what exploring in crackdown felt like. I've had to master air dashing through pickups because landing on them precisely is a complete pain in the butt sometimes. Running up walls isn't overly smooth and instead of parkouring up the side of a building it's not uncommon to get hung up on building geography. Jumping up building sides is often preferable to wall running and you can't wall run in any directions or anything like in Prototype, just straight up to get height. There's no bouncing from building to building running along the sides of buildings to leap off down the block.

Prototype felt like a parkour experience, and this movement isn't parkour. It's brute force movement like crack down. Less precise. I would kill for a spiderman 2 style jump charge meter so you could not leap 50 feet above the 2 story house you're trying to get on top of to get a glowy thing.

It's fun, and it's a pretty effective movement system, but there are times (like climbing towers) that I wish I had the precise movement control I had in Prototype so that I could pull poo poo off instead of falling back down a level or 2 from misjudging things.

At least gliding never runs out like in Prototype. Get high enough and you can glide a kilometer or two.

Also sorry if this seems negative I'm just hopelessly in love with Prototype 1's movement system and have never seen any game pull it off remotely as well since. I can't play Prototype 2 because they hosed it up so badly.

I can't figure out how to freeze the clock, so I'm giving up for now. If anyone has some insight, I tried searching for the minute and second values and tried searching for total seconds on the countdown (starting at 450 seconds when there's 7:30 left) and I cannot isolate a value that lets me freeze the clock, and beyond the really basic poo poo I have no idea what I'm doing with Cheat Engine.

Someone got enough experience to help me out? Alternately would a toogleable cheat that freezes game timers be possible for stuff like this idol? It would be nice if we had a feature for future replays that let us max out points or stop timers or whatever else to skip the activities that are a pain in the rear end, now that there are actual rewards we want for completing them. I would really love to be able to give the finger to a few of the rift and destruction challenges. It would make me incredibly happy if I could just give myself 9 million points and instantly end that stupid rift platforming challenge.

You will not make me use a controller, drat it! :argh:

I wonder if we'll be able to change the lockout on weapons when you jump. I get why you couldn't shoot while running when jumping was pretty much only for hurdling obstacles, it seems like an oversight that I can't pour fire down upon the head of the warden I'm following onto a rooftop.

I wonder if that's something we'll be able to mod. I would really like to be able to glide over dudes and still be able to aim and fire. Or charge the dubstep gun on the way towards landing and have the landing not interrupt it's firing.

At least they got letting you fire powers while blasting wubs right. Dubstep gun plus ice blast absolutely murders every virus injection ever.

The Dubstep gun was pretty much my solution to any problem. Gang members? Dubstep gun. Aliens? Dubstep gun. Enemy vehicles? Dubstep gun. Wardens? Dubstep gun. The Dubstep gun is amazing once it's fully upgraded.

Dual fire/lightning machine pistols are just unfair for killing pretty much everything. Fire blast followed by just spraying those in the general direction of enemies results in everything dying with almost as much fireworks as the dubstep gun. With max upgrades and ice blast wardens die before I have to down their shields a third time (unless I gently caress up that stupid rear end quicktime).

I'm looking forward to the inevitable mod that removes those stupid quicktime events.

The black hole gun one is a pain in the rear end, but I'm just going to come back once I've gotten the gun in free-range mode and can upgrade it. I'm assuming upgrades carry over to the mayhem gun.

I can't bring myself to get the tornado upgrade. I don't want to gently caress the city up wherever I go. If I could turn it off once I buy it, yeah, I would in a heartbeat.

Also yeah I'm doing the same thing with the black hole gun. I tried that challenge like six times, could not get above silver to save my life. I've golded the TK mayhems the "right" way. I still don't know what I'm going to do about Mind Over Murder. I cannot gold that solo to save my life and I'd rather cheat than admit I can't do it without a co-op partner.

Yeah, I use everything but buff really, it seems kind of boring compared to super stomping around or dropping cars on dudes.

Buff is incredible. Huge damage output increase on pretty much everything and the movespeed comes in handy in a number of situations. You know you can activate buff without interrupting the dubstep gun? I run around with that thing with ice buff and ice blast and nothing moves until it shatters. The 2x damage to frozen targets is really nice in any number of situations and ice buff works on dudes who normally your blast is useless against because they unfreeze so fast. Buff just keeps refreezing them.

Buff isn't flashy, but it makes up for it with utility. With the right combo of elements on the right enemies, my killing speed basically doubles and my damage taken drops by half as poo poo is either dancing around on fire, tased, or frozen. I used it literally every fight after I got it and had my powers. I liked that instead of a new way to kill people I didn't need I got a power that made what I could already do way better. The final dudes in the super powered fight club go down fast when they're frozen and taking double damage from tk objects and punches.

Do agree with this. I liked someone suggestion where the wardens were more like mini gangleaders and they would control the various revived gangs that you see in certain missions. At least then it wouldn't feel like your just fighting nothing but aliens over and over. Maybe if that happened then when you fight the wardens at the end of these, you get the power that one controls like normal. That or even just skip the wardens and have the revived gang leaders who are promised new bodies if they help Zinyak.

I'd be happy if wardens were modded so that a) no quicktimes and b) do not despawn everything in the area upon death. I would rather them have been like heavies, except maybe with a timer so that once you kill one you won't see another for a while.
